• My heart thumped as I tossed and turned, with sweat all over my body. I 'm having a nightmare, I thoght.
    "Don't go!" I whispered desperatley.
My heart raced faster and faster, until it felt like it was going to explode. I grunted as I tried to escape this bad dream, but it was no use. I didn't know what was going on, but I was hoping it wouldn't happen in the future. I was chasing after something, but I couldn't tell what it was. It was shaped like a person, but it was wearing a black cloak, not revealing the face. I still chased after it, but the person ran faster. Eventually, I gave up and fell on my knees, crying. I sat there forever, sobbing like crazy. I kept mumbling something, but even I couldn't understand what I was saying.

Beep! Beep! Beep! I jumped up suddenley and almost fell off my bed. I don't remember setting my alarm, I thought. I didn't have school, so there was no reason to get up at 7:00a.m.
"Ugh! I am so stupid!" I took my anger out on the clock and knocked it off of the nightstand.
I heard footsteps and knew that my mom was coming to check on me.
She swung open the door and gave me a weird look. "Honey, are you ok?"
I sat there wondering if I should tell her if I had a nightmare. "I don't know why, but I set my alarm clock, and it woke me up." I half-lied.
Mom gave me a pitiful look, then just shut the door slowly.
I sighed and wanted to go back to bed, but I knew I wouldn't be able to go back to sleep. So, I decided to go for a walk down to the beach.
I walked downstairs to tell my mom that I was going to go for a walk, and found her lying on the couch, snoring.
I smiled and went out the front door. She won't mind, I thought.
