• So this is how it ends, in the arms of my lover: I guess that’s a good way to go, it’s just… why does my lover have to already be dead? How could I let so many people down in this short amount of time? All the promises I made…. broken, worthless. I’d promised to protect them, but how can I do that when they’re all already dead? I’d promised to avenge her, but how can I do that when I am about to die?
Is this the last thing I’m going to see? That demons face staring down at me, my gun pointed at me?
How had he won anyway? We had an army, thousands of skilled warriors, against one demon.
“Do it; pull the trigger demon. I have nothing left to live for.” I stood up, leaving my dead lover on the ground, along with countless others who’d lost their lives to this demon.
I walked right up to the gun. It was cool on my forehead. One twitch of his bony, discolored finger and I’d have a bullet in my brain.
“Well?” I ask calmly. “Isn’t this what you’ve dreamt of? It’s time to fulfill that dream.”
“You want to die?” The demon asked. My ears almost began bleeding at the sound of his raw voice.
“That doesn’t matter, does it?” I retorted, “You want to pull that trigger, I know you do. So, go ahead.”
    He still hesitated.
“Come on, you can do all this,” I asked, motioning to the dead bodies everywhere, including my lover’s, “But, you can’t kill me?”
That’s when I noticed it. All the bodies, they were moving; the chests of every single warrior rising and falling. I looked back at my lover, his eyes were open, he was watching me.
    “Ty-”
I was cut off by the sound of gunfire.

    This is my story….
