• Her eyes glazed over as she continued to sit in the wooden chair in the middle of her room. For some reason, the light chestnut hardwood seem more interesting to her than the T.V. that quietly hummed on the dresser in front of her. Her mind swam in a pool of confusion and a sadness that she never felt before. The phone in her hand vibrated and gave a small buzz sound, momentarily disrupting her train of thought. She slowly shifted her gaze to the phone, looking at the blue screen that glowed next to her fingers. The small envelope stating that she had a message repeatedly opened and closed as if it were taunting her to press the small green button under the screen. She lifted her thumb and let it hover over the thin button before pressing it down. The screen switches to a black screen with white writing. The message was from the one she loved most and seeing his name made her heart flutter and the thought of smiling briefly crossed her mind. She looked at the message that he sent her. Just a simple “im sorry” was all she read. She sat back in her chair, half expecting him to take her back and half knowing that he was going to say what he did. Holding back tears, she slowly stood from the chair, setting her phone face down on the dresser and using the dresser as leverage. Her body felt like a massive weight being held down by a ton of bricks. She took small steps as she made her way to the large twin bed in the corner in her room. She hoped the green comforter would swallow her whole and take her out of this nightmare, bring her back into his comforting arms that will never let her go. Her lip began to sting as she lightly gnawed at it, the pain nothing compared to what she felt inside. Her chest felt like it was going to explode with all of the emotions that have been clawing inside her chest. She shuddered before she slowly crawled into the bed, not caring how the awkward way the comforter laid under her. Bringing her knees to her chest, she slowly blinked, the first tears making their way down her cheeks and receding into the fabric of the sheets.
