• “Cut it out, Theo!” sounded from upstairs. I smiled to myself as I recognized the voice of my older sister. I always heard it so often. Theo was the brattiest, most annoying little brother on the face of the earth. You’ve heard that so often, right? You’ve thought that about your own siblings. As much as I’d love to hear your comparison stories, I only tell the truth. Honesty will do anything for you.
Usually, Theo will take something and throw it down the stairs. I heard the usual sound of something falling down the stairs, and I completely froze when I could see it.
It happened quickly. Cari, my older sister, was screaming and crying and nearly fell down the stairs running. Theo was still laughing, but was quickly realizing what he had done. He had thrown Cari’s best, favorite, trophy for basketball down the stairs. It had broken at the bottom of the stairs, too. The basketball was gone, the name Carmell Kamlon was broken into five pieces, the body was dismembered from the base, the arms broke off, and the body was broken in the middle.
This was the worst thing Theo had ever done, and he barely realized it. I needed to stop Cari before she got grounded for murdering our 7-year-old brother. Our parents, Amelia and Joe Kamlon, needed to find out what Theo had done before Cari got revenge, or she would get in trouble instead. But in a rage, Cari wouldn’t know that.
