• They came from nowhere. Three of them, racing towards our base. And we were low on time and ammo. I quickly grabbed a grenade and hurled it at them, waiting five seconds before the toss. It slowed them down a little, but I knew we still didn't have a lot of time. We grabbed whatever food and weapons we could find and raced out of the back of the base, running with all speed in the opposite direction of the Predators. Oddly, I felt no fear, only adrenaline as we raced from the base. There was a place up ahead that was always incredibly hot when we went there for some reason, and we raced towards it. I knew the predators had infrared vision, and the heat there might throw them off.

It was a mad rush through that heat ridden place, stumbling over rocks and crags that felt hotter than concrete on a sunny summer day, having to scramble over boulders and hills at least four feet tall. We didn't stop until we were out of that place and had found a new source of shelter. We found a few trees around what looked like a pool of water, and we stopped there to rest. We looked back to see if they were behind us, but it seemed that they didn't follow. We both fell to the ground, exhausted. Yoko passed out after a few minutes, and I followed a little later.
