• He crouched behind the bushes, dressed in black, and he held a knife at his side. He stared at the small house and remained motionless. The bedroom light went out and he walked towards the house as quietly as he could. He passed a mail box, reading: "The Wells' Family." The mud beneath him made a loud squish with each step. Hewalked light on his feet as not to alert the residents. He walked around to the back door and slowly turned the knob. Realizing that the knob was locked, he walked to the left andfound a small garden. He walked over to the end of the garden an grabbed the vines that hung from the roof. Grabbing the vine, he hauled himself upward until he made it onto the roof. He walked slowly towards the attic window then opened it slowly. He stuck his head inside and looked around. It was a small space with old boards for flooring. There was a small, dusty couch at the far end with a dog resting there. The man shown a look of sorrow then crept slowly towards the dog. Nearing the dog, it woke and just as it was about to let out a loud bark, the man grabbed the dog by the neck and twisted until the dog was silenced. The man sighed and layed the dog onto the couch then walked to the attic door. The man moved slowly for each step he took, a loud squeak was let out. He reached the door then opened it. The stairs were in bad shape, rotting and old, so he had t be even more careful. He crept down the stairs slowly and reaching the bottom, he opened the door leading to the hall. He walked through the hall with knife in hand and crouched in front of a door. He opened the door slowly and looked arond. An old couple lay in bed, sleeping. He crouched and walked slowly past them to the opisite end of the room to a small safe. He picked the safe's lock then opened it. The door made a loud screech and the man jumped back and sat quietly, hoping the couple was still asleep. After many minutes, he rose again and put the contents of the safe into a bag. The contents included: $500 cash, a saphire gem, a diamond ring, and a small pouch of gold. He rose to his feet and turned around. The old man stood there with a shot gun in hand, pointed at the man. The old lady sat up in bed with terror shown in her face as the old man pulled the trigger. The bullet went through the man's chest and reached his heart. The man dropped dead and the old man removed his mask. After dooing so, the man's eyes widened and he breathed sharply then a tear ran down his cheek. The old woman saw and she cried fiercely. The old man sat in a chair with horror on his face and the woman went to the living room and sat on the couch. All the lightls in the house went out and the women returned to bed. The man sat in the chair, still stairing at the man. Early morning comes and the old women wakes up and walks outside. Her husband is there and was throwing dirt into the man's grave. He placed a tomb stone at the head of the grave that read: "Here lies Matthew James Wells. Born April 27, 1937, died September 4, 2006." The old couple returned to the home and sat silently, thinking to themselves.
