• I've never thought of being a beast that craves blood. It didn't seem likely I would ever turn into one. But I was wrong. Very wrong, it all happened 9 years ago when I was playing in the snow with my childhood friend, Kiyo...

A snowball landed in the middle of my forehead and covered up my light blue bangs as it dripped down my coat. "Kiyo"!! I said. "Sorry!" He laughed. Nothing could ruin this snowy day, or at least I thought. In the forest background on the left side of my birthplace, I saw a shadowy figure moving. I heard leaves crackle as it moved. I began to get nervous.

"Kiyo, did you hear that?" I asked, trembling. "Hear what, Sei?" He asked. "Those footsteps." I answered. "Yes, I have." He realized. As soon as he finished talking, the shadowy figure shot out of the forest and was approaching me.

"Sei!" Kiyo yelled. "You have to run!" My heart started beating with fear and I ran at full speed. I tripped over a root and my foot got caught under it. "Ugh!!" I yelled in fear and pain. I had sprained my ankle. Now the shadowy figure had reached me and held down my arms. "Hello, little girl..." The figure had a ghastly voice. I couldn't move or defend myself. I tried to kick with my other foot, but I missed.

The shadowy figure was a man with a short, blond, cropped haircut and was dressed in a black suit and cape. His mouth was opened wide and he had sharp teeth... "KIYO!!" I screamed. I was so afraid, I couldn't speak anymore. And the man leaned down to my neck, and slowly bit into it. Kiyo had taken out his carving dagger and stabbed the man, or vampire. Blood had gone all over my neck, hands, and coat. I felt dizzy from all the blood I lost.

"Sei..." Kiyo whispered softly. "Are you alright?" He started hugging me, I felt absolutely awful... He held my hand and led me to my house. My parents weren't home. If they knew what happened, they would freak out. "You can go wash off in the bathroom..." Kiyo said, his voice was still soft and almost sad. I started walking toward the bathroom. I locked the door and washed my neck. The wounds were still there, but it stopped bleeding.

I put some band-aids on my wounds and started washing the blood off my coat and hands. There was no more blood in sight. Then something felt strange. My heart stopped beating and my teeth began to ache...I...was turning into a vampire...
