• This is a short story that my mother and I came up with for her to read to her Sunday School class at church. She like to take children book and some stuffed animals to let them play with as she reads the story, this keeps the kids attention as she reads the story. Just remember that this is ranged for kids from 2 - 6 years of age, so don't expect brilliance. Let me know what you think as I have five of these stories and could use all the help I can get.

Buster the Buffalo Helps A Stranger

Buster was a dark brown buffalo that lived in the desert town of Critter Blitz. He loved to go after school and run around the desert. Most of his friends didn’t like to join him, so he would go alone to the small oasis where he can get a nice cold drink.

Today was different. Today, when he arrived at the oasis, there was a small horse there getting a drink from the pond. Buster knew all the young animals, but didn’t he know this one. The horse was not very big and his fur was as white as snow. Buster decided he would walk up to the small horse.

“Hi” Buster said, always wanting to make new friends. “My name’s Buster.” “What’s yours?” “Mine’s Snowflake” the horse replied. “Can you help me, Buster?”
“Help you?” Buster said confused. “Help you how?” “I’m lost.” Snowflake said. “I can’t find my parents. Can you help me?” “Sure” Buster said. “Let go.”

They left to go to ask the other animals in town if they knew where Snowflake’s parents were. Their first stop was Mr. Slivers the Snake’s hole. “Hi Mr. Slivers.” Buster said.” Hello Buster.” Mr. Slivers said, “Who’s your friend?” “Hi, I’m Snowflake” Snowflake said. ”Have you seen my parents.” “Sorry” Mr. Slivers replied. “I can’t say that I have. Try Ms. Tracy, she knows everything. “Thank you” they shouted as they ran off to find Ms Tracy.

They found Ms Tracy sitting and digging in her garden. Ms Tracy is a Jack Rabbit, so she loves to dig in gardens. “Hi Ms Tracy.” Buster said. “Oh.!” Ms Tracy cried. “Hi Buster. What are you doing today?” “We’re trying to find Snowflake’s parents. Have you seen them?” “I’m afraid not.” said Ms Tracy. “Why don’t you ask Sheriff Coppy?”

So, off they go to find Sheriff Coppy. He is a Bald Eagle and the Sheriff of the town. They soon found him in his office talking with Minister Hoots, and Snowflake’s parents.
“There you are!” Snowflakes mother cried when she saw Snowflake enter the office. “Where have you been?” “Buster found me in the desert. He led me all over the town until we found you.” They found smiled and thanked Buster, Coppy, and Hoots the Owl as they left the office.

“That was a good thing you did son.” said Coppy. “He’s right” said Minister Hoots. “God will be with you. He like’s it when his children help each other. In Hebrews 13:16, ‘Do not forget to kindness and good for such is pleasing to God’. So by your helping Snowflake find his parents, you have followed Jesus in helping and being kind to others. You did what Jesus told us to do.” “I also believe that you deserve this.” said Coppy as he reaches into his desk and pulls out a Jr. Sheriff’s Badge and pins it on him.
