• Chapter seven

My room looked flaming red. It was filled with pictures of the sun and fire. If I had stayed any longer in Leah's room I would've known her hair and eye changed color. All of a sudden I felt something burning inside me. If I was paying attention I would've realized my hand was on fire and that my hair and eye color changed too. Out of nowhere Ren barges in and yells "They're not ready!" then walks out. As soon as he said that I didn't feel anything burning, my hair and eye color returned to normal, and my hand wasn't burning.

"Whoa. What was that?" I whispered in awe. Leah was by my door. "Did you feel that?" she asks me. Before I get to answer Ren comes back. "Go to sleep guys. I'll explain everything tomorrow." he says. "Ok goodnight guys." Leah says before she leaves. "Goodnight." I say. I got into my bed and tried not to think about what just happened.

    *the next day*

I was up earlier then usual. The sun was just rising when I woke up. I felt so awake which was strange since I only slept 4 hours. I got out of bed and went outside to the kitchen. I got hungry so I made myself some instant ramen seeing that was the only thing to eat. "We have got to get some groceries." I mutter to myself. After I was done with my breakfast I look at the clock and it was 6:00 a.m. "Gah! I'm bored!" I shouted to no one. I paced around the kitchen and living room. I was so full of energy I didn't even want to sit down.

I decided to go outside for a few minutes and felt the sun on my face. I thought it was only 5 minutes but when I came back inside i saw that an hour past. "Holy cow! Who stands outside in the sun doing nothing for an hour!?" I ask myself. I was really bored so I started drawing on a piece of scrap paper I saw lying around. I've always loved drawing and art was always my favorite class.

After another hour or so I drew a picture of the sun just below the horizon by the sea. "Hey, you're a good artist." a voice said behind me. I jumped and turned around. Behind me was Ren with a sleepy look on his face. "Thanks for scaring me, sleepyhead." I said grinning. "Jeez what time did you get up? That drawing looks like you worked on it for hours." he said examining my paper.

"I don't know, maybe around the time the sun rose." I replied. His face had a perculiar expression for a couple of seconds. " Is Leah up yet?" he asks changing the subject. "No, she's still sleeping." I reply. "Go wake her up. It's time you know the truth....." he tells me.
