• I tugged Damian into my room and slammed the old door. My parents weren't home yet. Damian sat on my bed and panted like a dog. I grabbed my desk chair and pulled it out so I could sit on it.
"Ok Damian. Tell me exactly what happened." I hated seeing my friend look so scared. Damian sat up, and pressed both hands on his forehead and just sat like that for a long moment.
"Ok. After you ran home, I got bored. My home isn't exactly peaceful after school, so I figured I could just wander around for a bit. I was walking around the alleyway, when this really strange looking guy came into the alleyway, carrying a knife. I hid in the dumpster until he passed, then got out and followed him." He paused when he saw the death look I was giving him.
"I was just curious ok! So, anyway I followed him for awhile. He went into another alleyway and I waited behind a brick wall. I watched him as he met with this trembling girl. They talked for a long time, and it was getting boring, so I got up to leave. That's when the girl must have panicked and screamed. I was standing, and I saw the knife go right through her."
Damian shuddering and rubbed his eyes. I waited, my mouth hanging open. Damian opened one eye with his hand still pressed to the other.
"The guy saw me, and that's when I started running."
I slumped against the hard chair, and rubbed my temples. Damian rocked back and forth on the bed, in a fetal postion.
"Let's go." I jumped off my chair and grabbed my old woll jacket off the back of my door. Damian jumped up and ran to block the door. I got there before him and rushed down the stairs. Damian rushed down the stairs and grabbed my arm.
"Sukie! Are you crazy? Why would you want to go back there?"
I looked over at Damian. "To see where the body is. If there really is a murder, then we have to tell someone." Damian went even whiter. I raced out the door and down the sidewalk. I knew the place he was talking about. Damian stopped at the doorframe and slumped down on the stairs.
    I waved and kept running.
    ******
I paused by the alleyway where Damian said he saw the murder. I peered around the corner. The alleyway was empty. No signs of blood yet. Maybe Damian hallucinated, I thought to myself as I walked further in. I stopped when I saw a dark puddle of blood on the floor.
The rest of the alleyway was empty. I shuddered and pulled my coat around me tighter.
    "You."
I spun around, seeing a dark figure step into the light. His head was cloaked. I stepped backwards and stifled a scream. In his hand he held a bloody knife.
