• tab Micheal felt a rushing around him. Was it his life, collapsing? No, it was only the wind. His wife lay there, smiling,
tab "No. Dianne! Help will be here soon. Don't worry. Just rest. You're gonna' be alright. It's okay; it's okay." Micheal babbled, he wasn't sure who he was trying to convince, his wife or him. He looked up at the moon, brighter than ever. The stars shone in the sky, almost mocking him with their 'happiness'. The roaring of the ocean made it seem like everything was alive and well but Dianne. She laughed.
tab "Micheal, it's not gonna' be okay. Well, not for me, any way. But, you, you're gonna' make it. You can do this."
tab "No!" he barked, "Don't say that! You're gonna' be fine! I know it!" the blood seeped out and stained her beige shirt, "I know it." he repeated, quieter now.
tab "Micheal. I'm obviously not the person you're supposed to spend your life with." Dianne continued, now holding his hand, "This was meant to happen. There are so many other people out there, one of them is meant for you. I know it; I can feel it." Micheal shook his head,
tab "No! You're going to survive. I love you, we're meant to be together! I can feel that!" he took her other hand and squeezed it, "Just hang in there!" Dianne closed her eyes,
tab "There are so many other fish in the sea, Micheal. You just have to dive." the roaring of the rescue truck flooded his mind, "I love you, but this was meant to happen, otherwise it wouldn't have. I was meant to die, here, tonight." Micheal shook his head and pointed to the men approaching them,
tab "No, see! They're here, they're here! You're really gonna' make it!" Dianne chuckled, and pointed to the sky,
tab "Just look, Micheal. Doesn't it seem like a beautiful night to leave?" Micheal clenched his jaw, but before he could say anything Dianne put her cold hand on his face, "Just remember, Micheal, you have to dive. No one can do it." with that, her hand slid down, and landed on her chest. The wind blew her hair onto her pale face. Micheal closed his eyes,
tab "She's dead." a member of the crew muttered, "I'm sorry, sir." How did this happen? Micheal thought, the gun shot sounded, Dianne fell off of her horse, it's my fault! he was hardly aware of the woman patting him on the shoulder, crying herself. It's my fault. he thought.
tab The tears streaming down his face left marks at Dianne's funeral. Her favorite song was playing, and orchids surrounded her coffin. It was beautiful, if only it weren't a funeral. A woman stepped up to the podium,
tab "Dianne was a wonderful person. She was intelligent, loving, caring, and thoughtful. She died in agony, but her legacy will live on." her voice cracked as she wiped a tear away from her eye. "She was my classmate. She was my playmate. she was my story teller. I'll never forget her. I couldn't if I tried. We'll miss you dearly, Dianne. We'll miss you." she read off of a crumpled piece of paper. Her tear stained eyes "I love you, you were my friend, and sister." Micheal clapped the loudest, he probably loved her the most. Her last words rung in his ear, "Dive, Micheal. No one else can do it for you." He vowed, to dive in honor of his true love then. He vowed to fall in love again, only because she told him to. Only because she wanted it.
