• This had to be the most awkward position to be in. Looking around, I could see that when I fell, I had thrown my gun across the hall. Great. Just great.

"I told you to leave, " Henry mumbled.

I frowned at him, "I just wanted to talk to you. Trying to shoot you isn't going to help anyone. Plus, if you shoot me, you'll be bumped from the program. No telling what Danville's guys are gonna do to you." Wow, that was quick thinking. I guess fear can do that to you.

Henry's face whitened, "Fine, I'll talk to you. Just don't do anything like that." He lowered the gun and motioned for me to come in.

How can someone live like this? Pizza boxes and beer littered the carpet floor, which was so caked with old food, it was actually sticky. I tried not to shudder as I walked in. Even though Henry offered me a seat, I politely declined. Who knows what I could be sitting on?

"So, what do you want to talk about?" Henry asked.

"I want to know about Adrian." I replied.

His face went as white as a sheet, "I don't know any Adrian's....." I was REALLY starting to lose my patience with this guy. First, he refuses to let me in, then he aims a gun at me, then he tells me to come in his house and now this!

Instead of releasing my anger-issues and risk getting shot I simply accused, "That's a lie, and we both know it."

"Fine, you want to know the truth?!" he yelled at me, "Adrian's the firebug and he wants to burn the whole city to the ground. And since you're the only person to have caught on to him, he sees you as a threat."

"Me? A threat?" I asked, jumping a little.

He growled a little, "Yeah, you. Give it up. Even if he does see you as a threat, he's on a whole other level. He would have no problem killing anyone who gives you information." So that's why he wasn't saying anything. I was basically putting him in danger.

"I screwed either way is what your saying." I mumbled.

He smiled at me, "Yeah, but if I don't give you information, I still live. I like breathing, you know?" I felt like crying, I was so mad. If I got the information I wanted, I would basically be sending this guy his death sentence. But if I don't get it from him, the case will screech to a halt.

Well, I'm stuck now, but at least Henry won't get killed over some information. Great. This is just great.

Luke could see my disappointment as I got into the car.

"Hey, what's wrong?" He asked. I explained my dilemma to him and he simply nodded.

"Ok." He said, "Time to go to plan B! Let me drive."

I shrugged and scooched over into the passenger seat. Whatever 'plan B' was, it had to be better than my 'plan A.' Luke probably knows more contacts than I do, anyways. I had always heard rumors in the Station that he was amazing at that sort of thing on a job.

Luke smirked at me, "Hey, you don't mind me driving your car. You probably would've bitten my head off before."

I frowned back at him, "Don't worry, it's a one-time thing. Don't think that you'll be able to drive my car all the time." His smile just grew wider.

"Yeah, yeah." He grinned, "Oh.... Hey, we're here." I looked around and didn't see much, but to me, Downtown looks the same everywhere in this city.

"There they are." Luke pointed out. When I saw the direction he was pointing to, I saw a small group of men exchanging something. Probably something illegal. All I know is that Luke jumped out of the car towards some men that most likely had guns hidden in their belts.

One of the men bolted as soon as he saw Luke and a couple dollar bills flew through the air. The other man scowled once he saw Luke.

His nose flared up, "What are you doing here, cop?"

Luke wasted no time pulling out his gun, "I'm not here to mess around, Gerald. I want to know about Adrian."

"Not permitted to give any info out, " Gerald whispered, taking a glance at me. This was just not my day.

Luke moved his gun closer to Gerald's face, "Unless you want to be reported to the big guys, I suggest you start talking." The big guys.....? What was he talking about?

"Alright! Alright!" Gerald yelled out, "He's having a meeting at this club.... 'The Nightwing' But... you didn't hear it from me!"

"Understood." Luke nodded, letting him go. He got into the car with a large grin on his face.

He laughed, "Now, that is how you get information."
