• The sun that was hiding behind the clouds in Forks, Washington today. Much like any other day actually. I had lived in Forks when I was younger, but my family and I had to move quite a few years ago due to the fact that we aren’t exactly the most normal family in the Olympic Peninsula.

“Renesmee?” I heard my mother Bella Cullen call from the hallway.

Sighing I turned my back on the window to answer. “I’m in my room.” Bella appeared around the corner smiling brightly, and forever eighteen. “Hey…” I greeted weakly.

She came forward tilting her head to the side watching me. “Are you nervous?”

Laughing I replied, “Nervous? About what? My first day at Forks high school?”

“Yes, I know you don’t like switching so often, but sometimes it’s necessary.”

“I know…” I replied and tossed my hair over my shoulder focusing my eyes on the corner of the room to escape her gaze. “But hey, Forks has a lot of family history in it!” I tried smiling to cover up my emotions. “And besides, I’m just glad you and dad and all my aunts and uncles aren’t going to school with me this time” Whenever we moved to a new town we tried to appear as young as possible so we could stay longer in one place. Most of the time I would start off in ninth grade while the others either started off in tenth or eleventh. If I got lucky they would even go to college. Although that hadn’t happened anytime in the recent years.

Bella laughed along with me and said, “You’re right about that, but just remember everything will be perfectly fine!” She placed her hands on my cheeks and forced me to look into her topaz colored eyes. “It’s going to be okay. I promise.”

“What if someone recognizes us?” I asked speaking my mind, this was a question that had been bothering me.

“They won’t.” She assured me brushing my hair back. “Charlie needs me right now, and everybody else that was here back when we were has moved on. The only person that’s still here is Angela. But she won’t remember me.”

Sucking in a deep breath I nodded my head.

“Are you ready?” Bella asked stepping back to examine me.

    “Yep, whenever dad is.”

“He’s outside waiting for you in the car.”

I grabbed my backpack which was leaning against my bed and swung it over my shoulder. I walked downstairs with Bella trying to look happy.

“Nessie!” Screeched Alice cutting us off at the bottom.

“Hey Aunt Alice!” I hugged her with one arm and continued towards the door trying to ignore everyone staring. There was nothing special about going to a new school, but I suppose since it was Forks that’s what made the difference.

“Have fun! Make friends!” Alice said in a hyper voice. “It’s going to be great! Don’t forget to tell me all about your day!”

“I will.” I was at the door and had my hand on the door handle when someone cut in.

“Hey Nessie, don’t mess up!” Emmett’s booming voice was heard from the kitchen. He seemed to enjoy picking on me.

“Goodbye everyone.” I said ignoring his remark and waving.

“See you later hon.” Grandma Esme said with a warm smile.

“Have a good day.” Grandpa Carlisle said smiling down at me.

Sucking in a deep breath I waved again and dodged out the door to escape my family. I loved them more than anything in the world! But sometimes they could be a little too overbearing.

I hugged Bella goodbye and slid into the passenger seat of the black car.

“Bye Renesmee! I love you!” Bella called as we pulled out of the driveway.

“So did you get barn-barded at the door?” Edward asking glancing at me as he drove way past the speed limit.

“Almost!” I replied with a laugh. “Where was Aunt Rosalie? I didn’t see her there…”

“She was outside moping. She’s not too happy about returning to Forks.”

“Hmm…” Was my only comment. The drive was very fast, I hadn’t realized how close the school was.

“Will you be okay?” Edward looked a little worried over me, even though he was worrying over nothing.
“Yeah I’ll be fine. Trust me!” I smiled and waved as I jumped out of the car and headed for the admissions building, but stopped and turned around. “Eleventh grade, right?” I didn’t say it too loud in case anyone heard me, not knowing what grade I was in wouldn’t be a very good start to any day.

“Yep.” He replied and nodded his head looking slightly amused.

I turned and didn’t bother dodging the rain as I headed for the building. I opened the door and a middle-aged woman with grayish/brown hair sat behind a desk. Glancing around I wondered how much had changed since my parents had gone here.

“Hello how can I help you?” Asked the woman whose name according to the name plate on the desk was ‘Jennifer’.

“Hi I’m here for my class list. It’s my first day.” I smiled and leaned against the counter.

“Your name?” Jennifer asked bring up a bunch of pages on her computer and typing.

    “Renesmee Cullen.”

“Okay Renesmee…here is your class schedule and your first class is Algebra II in building C. Have a nice day.” She smiled and went back to work.

“Thanks.” I replied taking the papers and studying the map briefly. I wasn’t paying attention enough to notice the strange scent in the room. Spinning around I almost collided with someone.

“Whoa! Watch where you’re going there Nessie.” Said a rough familiar voice.

Looking up my eyes widened. “Jacob?”
