• "Stop you stupid girl!"
The Guardsmen were on her tail. Sirens rung about with spears and arrows flying everywhere. Still she continued. One roof to the next, as the full moon guided her way. Problem was, it lead the way of the Guardsmen too.
"Get back her, damn it!" Two-Star Guardsman Peet yelled.
"You have to catch me first!" cried the thief.
    Thump thump thump, whoosh, thump.
Three steps then the thief would jump to catch her next roof. Her balance astounding as the Guardsmen had trouble keeping up. As she jumped the bells on her hat rang beautiful as a bird.
More spears coming her way. Brilliantly she dodged them. The arrows fired once again. She heard them coming. Three from the left, two from the right. Once more she dodged them.
"What are you guys good for?!" Peet started screaming. "Fire those ones now!"
"Are, you sure?" a No-Star Guardsman asked.
"Did you just question me? I am your superior! You listen to me without question, now fire!" He spat back. Peet hated dealing with new Guardsmen like the ones he was assigned with; his patience was wearing thin.
New arrows shot, and it was a sound the thief was not use to. She heard one coming from the left, and dodged to the right. The arrow passed on her left, and one passed on the right too, close to the thief’s face. A smile was spreading when something caught at her feet. That something soon caught up with her legs, then her back. Her body was forcing into a ball, and she found herself falling into an alley.
"See, listen to me!" Peet was gloating as the thief was plummeting.

The fact that she was caught didn't register in the thief's head. The ally was dark, and she heard the ground coming towards her. Her mind suddenly clicked, and she found her hands. The thief threw them out and waited for the ground to catch up with them. Soon her fingertips touched the gravel, and the thief twisted her hands. A sudden jolt and she flung herself into the air. Silently she landed on the gravel, in a low crouch. Her hands reached the top of her head and she threw the net off.
"To think such a thing could catch me"
Something clicked again. She searched around and found her stealing. The bag was barely heavy, so she opened it up and searched through it. Her hands slightly felt the surfaces of her prizes. Almost everything was there. The missing object would just have to stay where ever it landed. The air was suddenly foul. She held her nose, and realized she was in a garbage ally.
"I think she fell over here."
The thief was about to leave when an idea formed in her head. She snickered. Perhaps she was going to have fun after all.

The Guardsmen were searching around, hands in front of them, like blind men. Suddenly one of them tripped on a rock, and his hands felt something.
"I think I got her!" he exclaimed. He felt the net, certainly.
"Oh, please don't hurt me." he claim shouted. "I don't wanna go to jail."
"Er, uh, miss." It was the sweetest voice he ever heard. "Don't worry. You won't go there, I promise."
"But-but, I did something, so very wrong." she whimpered. "I just need to be punished."
Soon the air was filled with encouraging comments such as 'Don't you worry.' 'It'll be ok.' 'We won't let that happen to you'
Unfortunately the Two-Star Guardsman showed up.
"What the hell are you guys doing? We caught the thief didn't we? Arrest her already!"
"But, sir. She's only a young girl. She has her whole life ahead of her, and she promised to never steal again."
"Oh get out of the way!" He pushed the crowd out of the way. "Stupid, good for nothing......." When he got to the thief, he was outraged. "What is this? What did you, ugh you idiots?!"
"Oh, don't take it out on them, Peet."
All their heads shot up as the glared at the thief. Her silhouette showed beautiful against the full moon light.
    "Wretched girl......."
"You were infatuated by my voice when you were a No-Star Guardsman yourself." The other Guardsman snickered. One quick glance from Peet changed that.
"One of the many benefits of being a girl I say." She silently laughed.
    "Darn phantom thief!"
"Sayonara Peet, it's been a pleasure." The wind shifted and she was gone. All that was left to hear was her bells. As sweet as a bird's song, the song of great victory.

That's part one of many more to come. If part two is to come, I need comments and votes! Help me out here!
