• "Kel! Come to bed!" Bluregarda Qwilleran suggested. She threw her pillow at Hynnkel Ha.
"Ow! Don't do that! I'm busy!" Kel said, rubbing the back of his head. He was trying to fix her goggles, and it was one o'clock in the morning.
"But Kel! It's the middle of the night! Can't you go back to sleep yet?" Blu asked, ducking as he threw the pillow back at her.
Hynnkel took his glasses off. "Look, I have to fix your goggles or you won't be able to see what your doing during battle."
"Or in real life. I can barely see you now, Kel."
    He grinned mischeviously. "Oh, really?"
He sat next to her on the bed and picked up a pillow. "Blu, you're ********," he said, raising the pillow up above his head.
"Haven't ever been yet," she answered, dodging his toss at her. She picked up her own pillow and tossed it at him. He laughed and moved out ofd the way before it him.
He started to hit her again and she tried to run past him, but he caught her around the waist. Suddenly he was kissing her. She put an arm around his neck and lowered her pillow so low that it touched the bed. He dropped his and held her around her waist with one arm and held her around the shoulders with the other one.
Blu kissed him back, loving the way he tasted, the way he was holding her so carefully. He slwoly lowered her to the bed, supporting himself above her with one arm propped up on the bed.
"Wait...Kel, wait a minute..," she mumbled against his mouth. He shook his and held her tighter. Blu put a hand on his chest and pushed him away from her. "Kel, no. Remember my promise?"
Hynnkel sighed and sat up. "That's right...this is why it's so hard to live with you, love."
There was a long, uncomfortable silence, then Blu said, "Kel, what was it you wanted to tell me?"
Kel shook his head. "You don't want to hear it."
She rested a hand on his shoulder. "No, Kel, I want to hear it."
    Kel sighed. "I've been thinking...about us...and I think we...we should get married."
    Blu stilled. "What?" she whispered.
Kel buried his head in his hands. "I know, it's a terrible idea, but I just-"
    "Yes."
    He lifted his head. "What?"
    "Yes."
He sucked in his breath. "You're...you're sure?"
She hugged him from behind. "Yes," she whispered in his ear. "I'm sure."
Kel turned in her arms and kissed her gently. "Thank you. If you had said no, I'm sure I would have killed myself."
Blu nodded silently and let go of him. Kel stayed where he was, stunned that she had said yes so quickly. He'd thought she say no; hell, he was sure of it. But she'd said yes.
A thought struck him. "We should get married now."
"We should get married now.""What!?"
He turned to her. "Look, you know Amaya won't let us. If we get married now, she can't stop us. And I know where we can get married now, too."
    "Where?"
He smirked. "So you agree that Amaya is a control freak, huh?"
    Blu scowled. "Just tell me."
"Jimothie Byrd can marry us. At the pub."
"I am not getting married in a pub," Blu said, crossing her arms in front of chest.
"The park, then. That's where I first realized I was in love with you."
Blu dropped her arms in shock. "That long ago!? Kel, that was five years ago!"
Kel pulled her close to him. "Yeah, I know. Five years ago last thursday.I was going to ask you then, but then you got kidnapped and we had to rescue you...That's the only reason I've stayed wherever you were- because I've loved you so long."
Blu lifted her head and kissed him lovingly. "I love you too..."
Kel laid her on the bed. "Good."
    )*(
Someone knocked hard on the door and Blu woke with a jolt. The person knocked hard again and Kel opened a sleepy eye and muttered, "Who the hell is knocking on the door at this time of the morning?"
They knocked harder and he groaned and threw the covers off. He got out of bed but Blu grabbed his arm. "Kel, if it's Amaya don't open the door."
"My cousin isn't very welcome in this house, you know. Even if she's your best friend and my cousin, she's not invited when we elope. We can get married together, and leave Amaya alone," he said cheerfully. He peered out of the peep-hole and then opened the door. "Can I help you?" he asked the little man in front of him.
"Um, I heard a lot of screaming in the next alley and I know you and that girl are with the Kennel Force-"
"Actually, she's the Herald, I'm her Primary Gaurdian," corrected Kel.
"Still...um, you might want to go see what the skubalo's going on?" The old man glanced over his shoulder at the battered surroundings he was in. Obviously, he couldn't get why a Herald, especially the Light Herald, would live in the village of HillGreen, and in the worst possible location for crime.
Kel sighed. "Fine, we'll take a look."
Blu appeared under his arm, eyeing the little man. "You're part Harpy, huh?"
The little man grinned. "Part Harpy, part Dwarf. You're a Furie, neh?"
    "Eh..."
Kel glanced at Blu, who had wrapped their blanket around her and was looking very tired. He had kept her up all night...they'd only gotten to bed at around three in the morning.
"I'll go. Love, you stay here."
    "But-"
"I want you to stay here! You just got kidnapped last week, you're half blind, and- just stay here," he said when he noticed Blu touching the eyepatch on her left eye with a shaking hand.
"Um, maybe I should just...go," said the man, and he left in a hurry.
"C'mon, Kel, you know I can't get back to sleep once I wake up unless it's, like, twelve hours later! Let me come with you!"
Kel grabbed her arm. "How about I make you tired?"
    "Huh?"
He put his hands around her waist and lift her onto the desk, kissing her the whole time. Then someone knocked on the door again and he broke the kiss long enough to say, "******** them."
He kissed her again, and the person(s) knocked again so hard that the door fell in.
"Whoops," said a familiar, bird-like voice.
"You needed a new door anyway..," said a dark voice.
"Hynnkel Tobian Hakinata! What the hell do you think you're doing!?" yelled Amaya. Kel broke free and answered without looking, "I'm kissing my fiancee, what does it look like I'm doing?"
    Amaya, Midnight, and Soda gasped.
"Oh, no you did not just say that!" yelled a furious Amaya. Kel turned to look at her.
"Amaya, it's none of your business," he said calmly.
    "The hell it isn't!"
    "How so?"
"She's my friend, and your my cousin, and I will not have her as my cousin-in-law, damn it!"
    "Why not?" asked Blu, offended.
    "Because...because...you're a Furie, and he's an Aelfe, and it wouldn't be proper because he's a Lord and you're a...a gutter-crawler!"
Blu jumped off of the desk. "What did you just say!?" she yelled, beginning to glow with pale yellow light.
Amaya's hands lit up with blue light. "You heard me, traitor! You're not worth it!"
"The hell she isn't!" yelled Kel, standing next to Blu. "She's a better person than you would ever be! She shows compassion, caring! You show coldness and deception, you b***h!"
"Whoa..," muttered Soda. She and Midnight scooted over to the side-lines.
Amaya's glow began to fade a bit, then lit up more. "******** you, you s**t-for-brains b*****d! ******** all of you, damn it!" She turned her back on them and stalked out of the room, shoving Soda and Midnight away from the door. Soda lost her balance and fell over, and Midnight ran into the chair Blu always sat in.
"I think she's lonely," Blu said quietly after a few minutes.
Kel sighed. "She's not lonely, she's stubborn. If she just opened herself up, she'd already be married."
"Maybe we should help her find someone," suggested Soda.
"Yes...like someone who could be a Blu for her," siad Kel. He grabbed Blu and kissed her again.
When she had caught her breath, Blu said, "And I said Yes."
