-Eva opened her eyes very slowly. She groaned, feeling like she’d just been beaten very badly. She was liying on a thin, dirty blanket. It’s material was scratchy like a sack. It made Eva itch. She sat up and looked around. “This isn’t the room I was in before… And where’s Prince Aikka and Jordan?” she thought out loud.This room was a prison cell, but smaller than the one she was last in, there was no furniture or anything like it, and the floor was made of smooth stones in the shape of cinder blocks without the holes. “What’s going on? Why am I sore all over…?”
-Jordan was sitting on a blanket in a room identical to Eva’s. He, too was confused of his surrounds, and he was sore all over as well. He tried calling out for Eva and Prince Aikka, but there was no reply. “What happened?” He crawled over to the door of the cell and looked out. He saw many cells down a hallway, but they were all empty. It looked like a creature might have been inside. “Maybe I was right! I’ll bet that’s why all those aliens were walking all over the place when we got here!” Graticus appeared right in front of the cell, surprising Jordan and making him fall over. “Ah, so you’ve discovered my plan? Time for you to see your friend! Heh heh…” Graticus opened the door and dragged Jordan down the long hallway. All Eva did was watch… in her mind, of course. How strange it was to watch what was happening in another room, far away.
-Eva banged on the door. “Let me out! I want to go home! LET ME OUT!” She banged her fist on the door so hard, her hand hurt. She gave up trying to find anyone to rescue her. She sat on her knees on the floor and rubbed her hands together. It was very cold; must’ve been night. She stood up and looked out a small hole in the wall. She was looking into another cell. A huge, magenta, furry creature was lying on the dirty floor. Eva suspected it was asleep. She yelled, “Hey! Wake up!” Nothing happened. Eva punched the wall. “Darn!” The words Now what do I do? echoed in her mind. She heard two sets of footsteps head down the dirty hallway. Oh, great. Now what? She saw Jordan first. Eva exclaimed, “Jordan!” Then she saw Aikka. “Aikka!” They approached the door and made that grin again. Jordan said, “Eva, we’ve come for you,” reaching out through the bars. “What?! No, way… this is just too crazy… Of all the evil powers… Graticus had to have… BRAINWASHING!” Eva looked at them lamely. “How pathetic.” Jordan and Aikka didn’t care. They came in the door, Jordan first. Eva grabbed a loose stone and threw it at him. He caught it and squished it into little pieces with his left hand.
-Eva opened her eyes once again. “What the-?!” She looked around, and let out a breath of relief. “A dream. That was a pretty strange dream…” She was in the dirt cell. It was dark outside the cell and Aikka and Jordan were asleep. Jordan looked like he had passed out on the floor and Aikka was holding his sword and leaning against the wall. How long was I asleep? Eva didn’t even remember falling asleep. She wondered how late it was. She guessed around one or two in the morning, judging by how dark it was. Now, I just have to wait and see what this guy is up to… Jordan’s voice saying We have come for you. echoed in her head. She rubbed her arms like she was chilled. “Eva, get a grip… It was just a dream.” Jordan muttered something about a teddy bear in his sleep and turned over. Eva was wide awake, too awake to sleep. She grasped the iron bars and looked out. She looked to the right, then to the left. She saw the same on both sides; long hallway, cells equally spaced out on either side. Eva sighed once more. I’m ready for you, Graticus… Ready to take you down!
