Eva Wei stood at the top of the steps of her boarding school, watching all her schoolmates go home. Her father’s blue car pulled up, and Don Wei waved to her, calling, “Eva! Come on!” Eva smiled, tightened the grip on her bookbag, and ran down the narrow steps to her father’s car. After the short ride, she got out and walked into her house. She set her bags down and retied her untied shoelaces. When her dad came in, she said, “Hey, dad, I’m going outside for a walk.”
“Okay, Eva. Don’t go too far.”
Eva sighed lightly. “Don’t worry, dad, I won’t.”
Ever since Eva had returned to Earth after the Great Race of Oban, her dad had been very cautious about her safety. He was very grateful he got her back, but sometimes his nagging bugged her. She often liked to take walks and collect her thoughts. The Great Race was over, but she still thought of it. Sometimes she wondered if she would ever see Prince Aikka or Jordan again. Aikka told her he would come visit her someday and take her to his kingdom for a visit. She wondered when that would be.
She walked past a garden near her house and followed a paved path leading in between some trees. After a few steps, she felt a sudden breeze. Eva folded her arms for warmth. “It must be getting late. ‘Better get back before Dad worries too much.” Then she heard a cry… a very familiar cry… coming only from…“G’dar?! Could it be…?” It was, much to Eva’s surprise. G’dar swooped almost to ground level. Prince Aikka was riding on his back. Eva exclaimed, “Prince Aikka! Nice to see you again!” The prince looked very serious. “Molly, I’m very sorry to disappoint you… But you must come with me to a very distant place. I’m afraid the name is hard to remember…” Eva threw her hands out in front of her. “But, why me? What have I ever done?” Aikka smiled. “Molly, you defeated Kross by yourself. You almost became Avatar…” Eva sighed, remembering Jordan. “Besides, I did promise to visit you,” Aikka added. Eva smiled. She put her hands on her hips. “So, what’s the problem?”
“A very powerful being has taken over this world, and is coming to annihilate the rest of the universe.”
“Who?”
“His name is Graticus. He claims he is the ‘most powerful’ being in the universe.”
“Yeah, right… When do we have to leave?”
Aikka looked over to the right. “Immediately.” Eva started to walk back down the path. “I must speak with my dad first.” Aikka got off G’dar and came over to Eva. “Please, Molly, we must leave right now. Please.” Eva looked sadly towards the direction of her house. “Poor Don Wei. ‘Guess it’s time for me to be ‘Molly’ again…” Aikka got on G’dar’s back and helped Eva up. Eva quietly whispered, “Goodbye, Dad… I’m sorry I couldn’t say anything more…” as Price Aikka made G’dar fly towards the cloudless sky.
