Fire on Purpose

Steady breathing and the light flickering on. The sound of electricity moves though the bulb. The heat of the one beside you. Sasori opened his sleepy eyes and saw the blue hair of the only female. “ Sorry, did I wake you Sasori?” he asked slightly concerned. Sasori shook his head lightly, he was going to wake up soon anyway. Konan sighed lightly in relief. “ Ok. I need you to sit up ok? I’m going to do one more chakra run though your body. You should be completely healed by now. Judging by what Pein told me yesterday, you learned how to walk again.” She smiled. Sasori smiled weakly back, then sat up. “ Thank you…. Konan” he thanked. When he sat up, he had a head rush, but had it under control in a few seconds. Konan steadied him and took off his robe. Under the robe, Sasori wore nothing but his underpants. Konan’s hand glowed with green healing chakra as she hand her hand all around Sasori’s young body, healing any minor injuries. Hid body had a few scars and the burns were a fait purple. Finally she retraced her hand and smiled. “ Your all set.” She said. She walked away, washing her hands in the sink. Sasori sighed relieved, then threw his robe back over his shoulders. Konan left the room, leaving Sasori and the still sleeping Deidara, inside. Sasori swung his legs over the side of the bed, and put his bare feet on the floor. There was no pain, and he felt stronger. He found his bag of cloths and put them on. It felt nice to be in normal cloths again, well, at least he could feel them now. There were of semi-soft cloth that fit perfectly around the curves of his hips. He never really did wear a shirt and it seemed Pein had picked out one for him. He held it in his hands for a minute, the put it on. It had fishnet sleeves that ended at the elbow, fishnet around the collarbone, baggy cloth down the shoulders, but got tighter around the chest and the waist. On the back was the sand village symbol, with a line across it. It looked rather nice on him, and he liked it. He found his forehead protector and decided to put it around his neck. He looked at himself in the mirror and he looked a lot different then before, he liked it. Deidara started to stir. The blue eyed blonde woke, and looked around. He say Sasori in the new outfit and smiled. “ My, my Sasori no Danna…don’t you look different un.” He said with a tired smile. The redhead turned around and smiled. He chuckled, a bit embarrassed. “ Yeah. You like it?” he asked. Deidara sat up and smiled, looking up and down Sasori’s outfit. “ Yeah. It looked really good on you un.” He said. Sasori blushed and smiled a bit. He liked it whenever Deidara complemented him, and he had to admit, it made him warm on the inside. Deidara got out of bed, and got used to walking. His injuries were healed, and all that was left were a few scares and a bit of a poking pain in his side. He found his clothes and put them on. They were the same as his other ones, only it had the stone village symbol with a line across it on the back, like Sasori’s. He put his long hair up in the half ponytail and reapplied the dark purple nail polish that all the Akastuki members wore. Sasori watched him do it, then looked at his own nails, witch he never really painted. His puppet body had it stained in, but now it was regular flesh color. Deidara looked over and smiled. ‘ Hey Danna un, come over here for a second.” He said, motioning Sasori to come with his finger. Sasori followed the motion and Deidara took his hand and started applying the polish to her fingers. “ What” he started before Deidara but his finger to Sasori’s lips. He snickered a bit then removed it. “ I’m just getting you ready to go back to the base ok un? Pein told me he wanted you to match the rest of the members, paint and all.” He said giggling a bit. Sasori was quiet, then smiled slightly. He let Deidara paint his nails, both hands and feet. After they were done, Deidara stood up and put the polish away and picked up his bags. He felt a hand on his shoulder and turned around, only to be met with a pair of soft, human lips upon his own. He was surprised, but then melted into it, kissing Sasori back softly. The wooden taste was gone, and now it tasted a lot like, strawberries, or apples. It was sweet, and addicting. Once they parted, they were both gasping for air. Sasori smiled then took Deidara’s hand. “ Shall we go?” he asked kindly. Deidara smiled and nodded. They both walked out, hand in hand. Once outside and in the main room of the Akastuki, Itachi was the first to meet them. His eyes were their normal color, and he was playing his usual good guy mode. “ Hey, finally out of the hospital I see…That’s good.” He said, faking a smile. Sasori still wasn’t so sure about Itachi, but he let the feeling go when Deidara smiled. “ Yeah it feels great too un!” he said cheerfully. Sasori kept quiet as Itachi smiled back. “ That’s good to hear. Pein has been ordering us all to guard the hideout incase of an attack, like there’s going to be any.” He finished. Sasori finally spoke up. “ Hey Itachi, what makes you all of the sudden…kind?” he asked. Deidara gasped and elbowed Sasori in the arm. “ Danna, un!” he said. Itachi shook his hand. “ Its ok Deidara. I guess it is a bit weird, I mean. We did have some trouble in the past.” He said. Sasori glared. “ Yeah…Some real trouble.” He growled. Deidara stepped in-between them. “ Sasori, un. Itachi is different now, and he helped me save you. Now, can you guys just get along?” he asked hoping they would agree. Itachi nodded and held out his hand for Sasori to shake. “ I’m fine with that. What do you say Sasori?” he asked, holing his hand out. Sasori didn’t know what to do. If he didn’t shake Itachi’s hand and became friends with him, Deidara would be very upset. He gave in and shook Itachi hand, forming their new friendship. “ Fine…” he simply said. Deidara smiled and put his arm around Itachi, then the other around Sasori and pulled them both close to him. He chuckled and held their heads under his arms. “ See! Finally things will be different, un!” he smiled. Sasori cast his eyes down. He didn’t like Itachi at all, but if Deidara wanted him to, he would do anything. Itachi smiled, inside he knew it would be very soon before his plan would take action.
A few days later they were all in the main room, eating ramen (or in Deidara’s case, dangos) and drinking sake. Sasori’s body was to young to drink, but Deidara gave it to him anyway. After all, they were part of an evil organization. He didn’t know how much he could drink, and he ended up drinking a full bottle plus a couple shots. His head was dizzy and his eyes were like fog. Deidara’s was the same, only he knew his limits. Itachi had kept his drinking to only a quarter of a bottle and he was in a rather nice buzz. Itachi figured out a plan to get closer to Deidara and Sasori. It would be painful, and he would get a lot of lectures from Pein, but he decided to do it. He acted drunker then he really was and set his plan. “ Hey guys…want to see something cool?” he asked in a drunken voice. Deidara to another gulp from his glass, making him more intoxicated. He smiled lazily, the tongue on his hand sweating. “ Un.” He said instead of yes.” Sasori chuckled, obviously drunk. He leaned back in his chair and had a drunken smile on his face. “ That would be cool…” he said. Itachi smiled and stood up. He did a few hand signs then sucked in his breath. “ Watch this..” he said. Then, he blew out fire in the main room and down the hall. The base caught on fire and Sasori and Deidara just watched. Deidara watched the flames, still smiling. “ Sweet art there Itachi-kun..” he said. Sasori shrugged. “ Its interesting…” he said. Itachi grinned. “ That’s my famous move.” He said sitting back in his chair and watching the building around them burn. Just then Sasori had to puke, he ran out of the hideout and emptied his stomach in the bushes, also saving himself from the flames. Deidara laughed. “ I’ll be right back Itachi. Sasori needs some help… Stupid b*****d drank to much.” He said and started walking in a drunken way out of the burning building. Itachi grinned. “ Yeah.” He said, the looked back at the flames. Deidara saw Sasori still puking in the bushes, then had to do it himself. He puked behind a tree, holding onto it for support as the building collapsed in flames with Itachi still inside. After a few minutes, both Sasori and Deidara passed out in the forest while the building burned into ash. The smoke swirled in the dark sky, blocking the moon and any stars to shine. It went on for hours, till finally the fire stopped. By that time it was morning, and the sun struggled to shine though the thinning smoke. Just then Pein and all the other Akastuki reached the base where they previously had been away from the day before, due to a trip that Konan ordered them to take. Pein stepped in front of the burnt-down hideout, his eyes raging. “ What the f**k happened!” he ordered. None of the other member’s knew and Pein ordered them to search for Sasori, Deidara and Itachi since they were the only ones home last night. Zetsu was searching the forest and found Sasori and Deidara lying in the grass, not far from the hideout. He picked them up and brought them back. He laid them down and Keisame spilled water on their faces. They both woke up and started cursing at Keisame. “ What the hell was that for!” Sasori growled. “ That’s not the way to wake someone up, un!” Deidara said after Sasori. Keisame rolled his eyes. “ Have any idea what happened to the hideout?” he asked them. They looked at each other and they both had a headache. Sasori rubbed his head. “ Something happened to the hideout?” he said, not remembering anything. Deidara was the same and Keisame turned to Pein. Pein’s eyes narrowed. “ Where is Itachi…?” he asked, knowing it had something to do with a fire jetsu. The building hadn’t been blown up, but instead had just caught fire. They both shrugged. “ We…We don’t remember anything from last night.” They told him. Pein was silent, then walked away. He then ordered the rest of the members to search for Itachi, for he feared the man was under all that rubble. They started digging and Deidara became more and more worried for his new friend. “ Danna…I hope he’s ok, un.” Deidara said worriedly. Sasori nodded and put a comforting arm around the blonde’s shoulder. “ Don’t worry, Itachi is strong and he will be fine. No way a fire is going to kill him.” he told him. The word fire seemed familiar, like he knew it was happening, but his mind hurt to think. Deidara laid his head on Sasori shoulder. He felt like he had been drinking, he had such a hangover. Hidan called out, and caught both their attentions. He had found Itachi under the stone and ash. Everyone helped to dig him out, including Pein, Sasori, and Deidara. Itachi’s body was badly burned and his hair was singed. He was passed out and Konan started treating him right away. “ Thank god he’s still alive!” she said, healing the 3rd degree burns. Sasori and Deidara were traumatized. They felt like it was their fault and they felt sorry for Itachi. Itachi then opened his eyes. He smiled on the inside, knowing it was going perfectly. Pein noticed he was away and slapped him. “ What the hell were you doing setting the base on fire! You almost killed yourself!” he growled. Deidara stopped Pein’s arm when it was about to strike Itachi again. “ Don’t un! It must have been an accident.” He said. Pein glared, then lowered his arm. “ Don’t ever tell me what to do again Deidara… Your lucky.” He said then stormed away, ordering Konan to finish up and take him to the extra hideout they had set up. They all started walking to the other hideout, both Sasori and Deidara carrying Itachi. Itachi coughed out “ I’m s-sorry.” And Deidara hugged him. “ Its ok Itachi-kun… You’ll be healed in no time. I promise, un.” He said. Sasori stayed quiet. He felt sorry for Itachi, it must have been so painful. He knew he was changing, but he didn’t know if it was for the better, or for the worse. He decided to trust Itachi, knowing that if they did become friends it would be so much easier for both of them. He started to heal Itachi on the way there, making Konan’s job easier.
