8/16/2009: Great. Now what?
I was making my escape. I had decided to use the spare key (thought it would be easier than the air vent), and it was about midnight. With Aurora by my side, I snuk down the creaky stairs, across the creeky floor, across ANOTHER freaking creeky floor, then put the key in the yet creekier door. I had started to turn the key to unlock the door. It was making oh so much noise. I kept pausing. Finally, after what seemed like an hour, the door was unlocked. I pulled out the key and put it under the mat (just in clase some random orphan needed to escape like me). I began to slowly turn the knob of the door when suddenly a kid named Kipp Dagan came up behind me.
In my opinion he was pretty dark and scary. Everyone knew that he had a sword hidden somewhere around the orphanage.
The one which was in a sheeth attatched to his belt right then.
I jumped, starled. The floor creeked as I landed. He looked ready to strangle me. "SHUT UP!!!" he snarled quietly.
"Well, then don't sneek up on me!"
"I'm getting out of here," Dagan said.
"Fine with me. As long as we don't get caught when I open this door! So shut up!" I whispered harshly. Aurora growled slightly.
However, he shoved me out of the way and grabbed the door knob. He flung the door open so fast I didn't have time to think. The door hardly made a sound.
"Done," he said, "let's get outta here."
I was open-mouthed in shock, but Aurora urged me forward. We ran into the night. And it was COLD. All I had was one jacket and a pair of gloves. And it was a LONG walk to the Orphan Hideout.
Right now, the three of us are sitting under a tree about five miles away from the orphanage as snow is falling around us. The place will be covered in it by morning. Or at least, that's my guess.
