Ch. 8 The Destroyers

“Did it look like this?” Shizu asked, pulling out a large thick book. The group was at Shizu’s Dojo, looking through some of the books.

“Yeah, like that.” Becky said, pointing at a picture of the creature they had just fought.

“What were they?” Aisha asked, staring at the picture.

“They’re called Nexi. They are usually a sign of great evil. But I haven’t seen them since me and the old team locked up that Black Warlock, Varn. This can’t be good.” Shizu told them.

“Well, if they’re a sign of great evil, then something is wrong.” Kelly pointed out.

“Maybe we should go check out where the Nexi attacked. Maybe we’ll find something to clue is in.” Jake suggested. The others agreed, and they set off, with Shizu’s promise of more information when they returned.

When they got back to the street, they saw that some people were walking, though not many, and those who were, looked scared.

“All seems well.” Becky said, pulling out her gun and whip. The others drew their weapons as well, but Aisha kept her wings low as to not draw more attention.

“Looking for someone?” Came a voice from behind him.

The group turned around to see who had spoken. It was Itamo Konis. With him, were Sean, Jessica and Kagune, who was grinning wickedly.

“No on in particular.” Jacob said evenly, though he glared at the white haired boy. There was just something about him....Something evil.

“Could it be...these?” Itamo asked. He brought his hands up, and brought them down as several of the Nexi appeared.

“I knew he was evil!” Jake said, taking a defensive stance as the others did the same. Meanwhile, Itamo’s team drew their weapons.

Itamo drew a katana. There was something else on his back, but he did now draw it. Sean had a large halberd in his hands, which were covered in metal gauntlets. Black wings burst from Jessica’s back as she twirled a scythe in her hands. Kagune had twin bladed fans, and what looked like shuriken in a pouch. She ran her tounge along one of the shuriken, and flung it at Kelly. Kelly spun the chain attached to her scythe and deflected the shuriken.

Twirling his staff, Jacob asked,
“And what, pray tell, do you want with us?”

“Why, your lives, of course.” Itamo asked with an evil smirk.

With that, Itamo launched himself at Jacob, slashing at him with his katana. Jacob managed to parry the blow with his staff, and countered back.

Sean and Becky were going at it, bursts of flame coming from their weapons counteracted each other. Each was alight with fire as the other tried to beat them.

Aisha and Jessica had taken to the sky, their wings flapping as Aisha sword countered Jessica’s scythe, sparks flying from metal hitting metal.

Kagune and Kelly were going at it with ferociousness that would have scared the most hardy of men. Kelly’s scythe chain met with Kagune’s bladed fan, growls erupting from the girls as they battled on.

“Come on, is that the best you’ve got?” Kagune screamed, throwing herself at Kelly, trying to maim her. Kelly responded with a knee to the stomach.

Jacob and Itamo were fighting the hardest, the ground breaking wherever their weapons clashed. Punches and kicks were thrown as one tried to wound the other. Jacob sidestepped Itamo’s downward slice, and jabbed him in the ribs with his staff. Jacob slammed his fist into Itamo’s stomach. Quickly, he slipped behind Itamo and chopped him in the back of the neck, making him fall.

How did I get this fast, or this strong? Ever since I got my powers, my speed has increased ten fold, and my strength a hundred fold!

Black and white feathers began to fall. Jake looked up, and Aisha and Jessica were attempting to take a chunk out of each other. Their wings beat bursts of wind at each other, creating small tornados around the group as they fought.

“Hey, can you let it up a little bit up there?” Both Becky and Sean shouted at the same time. They stopped and glared at each other, before attacking again. Sean thrust his halberd at Becky, and her whip wrapped around it, engaging them in a tug of war.

There was a blast of cold air, as Jacob whipped around. Kelly was focusing bursts of ice from her scythe at Kagune, who was attempting to deflect with bursts of water. Kelly quickly unstrapped her snow board and hopped on it. In a blast of ice, she was up a building, leaving a trail along with her in her wake. Using her scythe as a wheel, she grappled onto a pool and swung around. She slammed into Kagune, who fell over on the ground unconscious with Itamo. Now it was four to two. Sean and Jessica worked their way over to the two, realizing they were outmatched.

Jessica shot Jacob a nasty look.

“We’ll be back.” She said, grabbing Kagune on her jacket as Sean grabbed Itamo. Then, they stepped into a black vortex that appeared from nowhere, and were gone.

“What the hell was that?” Becky shouted.

“Well, apparently, we just won our first battle against our enemy.” Aisha mused.

“Come on. Lets go.” Jacob said, walking down the street back to the dojo
