• You told me once
    You like your women
    Like your coffee-
    Strong and dark.
    So I coloured my hair
    And became more like you.

But you were like a cup of coffee
    That never cooled down,
And eventually the burns on my tongue
    Became too much for me.

I was simply the ice cube in your cup
    That melted and mixed in,
Saving you from the heat of a fresh brew.

    I've since poured my cup
    Down the sink.
Perhaps coffee was too much for me,
And now I'm enjoying a fresh cup of tea.
