• Rivers run red from the blood that's been spilled.
Swirling waters bring in the tide.
Though there is nothing that brings my eyes water,
there is still life living on the bank side.

Even through war and strife and the violence,
even through darkness, death, we survive.
There is still life on the shores of the river,
and there is still life living on the bank side.

People still love and people still live.
People still eat and sleep and be brides.
People still weep and people still smile,
because there is still life living on the bank side.

    Historians document only the violence.
They document wars and destruction that's wide.
They always forget that there is something special
as people are living still on the bank side.
