• My heart has screamed, my brain has bellowed;
    Each arguing their own.
    I’m stuck in a mindless abyss, able to do but nothing.
    A fork in the road awaits my life;
    Do I take the path of rights and wrongs, or do
    I travel the road of gray,
    Where every wrong blends into right,
    Where what seems right its twisted wrong
    It’s a wonderland of ethics.
    My body weeps tears of blood and confusion,
    For it’s nothing but a vessel to carry out the decisions
    Of both my heart and mind.
    Bloody drops stain my pure-white dress,
    Scarlet flowers blossoming upon the canvas.
    What was once pure is tainted,
    Torn and worn, its worth spoiled.
    It’s time for a stand, to make my own decisions
    Instead of following the ruling of my separate entities.
    My body chooses neither left path nor right,
    Instead, it crumples in the middle
    And lets its carcass rot, right between the roads.
    Compromise.
