Baking in my sorrow,
Burning in my pain.
My skin beats bright red,
Wishing it would rain.
Stumbling in the sand,
Choking on the grain,
Gasping for a breath,
Wishing it would rain.
Searching rocks for water,
Cannot take the strain,
Gouging out my eyes,
Wishing it would rain.
Dehydration taking over,
Shutting down my brain,
Lips are dry and crisp,
Please just let it rain.
And finally I collapse,
My body will refrain,
My corpse is now a raisin,
Wishing it would rain.
