    Silent they fall down,
    Like crystals they seem,
    Jewels of sadness
    And of misery.

    Brushing lightly against skin,
    Leaving behind them,
    A feeling unique
    Like touched by a ghostly hand

    Precious they seem,
    And beautiful too,
    But they most often
    Express great sadness and pain.
    On warm or cold cheeks,
    They make their way down
    Slowly like ice melts
    To meet what’s below.

    A cause of regret
    So tender and soft
    That you would not comprehend
    The gloom within…
