The ocean seemed so sweet
It is no longer divine
I couldn't see you
Tears in my eyes
The water seemed so soothing
As though it felt my pain
But it made you drift...
Drift far, far away
I still cry at night
But my mind refuses to believe
But my heart knows what it is
It's time for you to take your leave.
I keep your words in my heart
"I'll be back before you know it
Don't lose hope
Never give up.
I'll love you forever
I know this isn't enough."
And it wasn't of course
But if it couldn't get any worse
Your very last words
Linger greatly in my head
Goodbye.
As time passes by
I refuse to lose hope
My hope will not shatter
People call me a fool
That you'll never come home
I believe in your promise
I believe in your words
I know you'll come home
But somehow I feel your arms lingering around me
An uncertain warmth surrounding me.
Though it was warm
The wind still blew
It made a leaf fall
Alongside a tear too.
Could a leaf hold
So many memories of you?
Because I know I'm a fool
To think you'd return
Your fate was already sealed
I just wish I could of said
Goodbye.

- Title: Goodbye...
- Artist: transiti0n
- Description: I wrote this for my WWI and WWII studies. All the teacher said was, "Great, do a good copy." I didn't feel like that was enough, so here it is.
