• The dark isn’t so dark
Like so many stars that line the streets
Illuminating the night just outside my window
The streetlights reflect silver on the trees
The pale lamplight that comes streaming though my window
Makes the darkness soft enough to touch
It’s like I’m in the Sea of Serenity
    Casting shadows upon shadows
I want to dream but I don’t want sleep
Listening to the piano ringing in my ears
Tonight it makes me want to cry
If I could slip silently through the cracks in the floor
And out into the orange haze
I’d walk the streets lined with fallen stars
    On sidewalks damp and gray
Winding through the silver shadows of this lonely night
I’d find my way to you
