• ON BIRDS AND LOVERS
    UC Poika

    A songbird sings, unseen, not distracted by the things
    That lovers know there beneath the boughs below
    As they look into eyes that see into their own hearts
    And hold each others’ hands, touching only what is real
    Oblivious to the songs the songbird sings
    To his mate, a bird lover covered by leaves that grow
    To know just how and why the loving part starts
    And find what Adams and Eves will always feel
    When together they choose to hide their ways from all
    Of those they think wouldn’t understand what they share
    As in each others’ arms they gladly fall
    Aground, unseen, not distracted by anyone there;
    But lovers love, songbirds sing and love
    Goes on for both no matter whether on earth or just above.
