• Man of Sophistication

He was always lonely, even in crowds

Feeling known to men, unknown to boys

He wants to cut a figure in the city,
    To be different,
    To be above all

Life is so small, so inadequate, pointless

He goes from sure, to not so

Men had come out of nothingness,
    Lived,
    Then back to nothingness

    How many had been remembered

Limitations of life, Sophistication that he is nothing,
    And won’t be something,
    That he has no control

    He wants a woman,
    Wants someone to understand
