• I felt the fire,
    Burning throughout the days
And I found myself in a daze,
    Looking back upon my life.
    I had fought, crawled on,
    Living in the night,
It seemed to go on too long,
And yet I still yearned for dawn.

    As I walked onward,
    Searing with burns and pain,
I made my way through the flames.
It felt much the same as before,
    Different none,
    Alike in all aspects.

Anger and fury ticked like a time bomb,
The moment of explosion coming near.
As I marched, there was no fear,
    My emotions growing exponentially.
    The moment would come eventually.

    Then, the inferno was doused,
My Savior coming to the rescue.
    My knight in shining armor,
    Day had finally arrived,
Bringing with it the promise of a new life.

My pain over and done with,
The inferno of hell now seeming like a myth,
    Happiness radiating,
    A pure serene glow,
    The pain no longer so.
    Wounds healed, now distant scars,
Painless memories that seemed as distant as the stars.
