• My Light

Your hair is streaked with comet fire,
    Vibrant eyes a-shower with sparks,
A smooth tongue that soothe away my ire,
Each dawn, from my eyes, you chase the dark.

Strong and lithe, you are my light.
From your elegant hand bright thoughts exude.
For myself, you’ve urged, choose the path that’s right.
You’ve pride in independence, to which your actions allude.

As Mother Nature caresses her child with all her fingertips,
I watch life bubble up from within your heart.
My words of love clutch to my lips,
Though I long for their flight, they refuse to depart.

You are my sun and moon. You mean the world to me.
All our lives are beautiful, that you’ve helped me see.
