• In the distant fog a fairy sang
    a lone and mournful song
of her long lost love from ages past
who was taken one clear dawn

Not by the sword or by the spear
    nor by the dragons fire
but by the cruel cold hands of time
    did her human love expire

Thus did she vow to find again
The one whom time had slain
By wizards cast or demons spell
    She would not alone remain

So then began the fabled quest
    Of which the ancients wrote
When seven hearts for seven loves
    did take a sacred oath

    (new)
    Each one seeking solace
For a raw and aching wound
    Loves lost prematurely
And mourned at each new moon

From the bright green land of Fairon
    Princess Ashra she did fly
And from the cool dark forest
The elf Tinoben left to spy

    With one apprentice adept
A human sage before his time
They joined with four dwarf kindred
From the mountain caves of Brine

Thus on a fate filled midnight
    Beneath a warriors moon
Did seven spill their worthy blood
    To seek a ancient boon

    Until the mountains crumble
And the rivers fill the sea
Until night has lost a billion stars
    And soulless spirits breathe

As long as life does quicken
As long as our hearts beat
We will find a way to pierce the vale
    And make our joys complete

We will search on every mountain
We will search on every coast
We will search until our loves return
    They each foreswore this oath

    Somewhere heaven listened
    Some great god was pleased
    For each was granted magic
    To make their journey eased

For the elf a cloak of darkness
    To the fairy endless flight
For the mage the words of power
To make their enemies flee in fright
