• Rain, picturesque and elegant
The setting of a newborn earth
The prayer of the newfound glory
The beginning of my love story

It all started with a simple kiss
Kiss of death kiss of life
    It continued with his eyes
    So intense you’d never know
That he’d been through his own share
Of life’s cruel and unusual trials
    Of the rains mysterious grace
    He was dependant, for survival

He sees a girl, awkward but eye-catching
Almost as if she was his dream
So quite so timid, but oh so beautiful
She was meant for him, or so it seemed

So he talked to her with his low capturing voice
And seduced her into his arms
She remained reluctant as was her choice,
For she was from the working farms.

A man like him and a woman like her
    Were never meant to be.
The public knew it, but they weren’t sure,
For the differences they couldn’t see.

Despite the stern words of her father,
And the wise words of his mother,
They found a way to convene,
    Although it was considered obscene.

Joined together in a secret chapel,
    They met when moon shone
Her face as red as Snow White’s apple,
    They would never return home.

He took her for the rest of life,
She took him until the end.
    She was pronounced his wife,
    And she, his husband.

But like rain on a newly painted picture
    The marriage wouldn’t last
Even though they were so sure,
    Fate was extremely fast.

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.
    Became of these two people.
Frozen together as if there were rust,
    Upon the white steeple.

    For the clouds churned,
    And the villagers burned,
Every last bit of their love.
    And all that was left
    A little white dove,
But then again the villagers were daft.

A tale of life, a tale of sorrow,
A tale of strife, ending no morrow.
Even in the end the villagers couldn’t see
The lovers were meant to be.

    Rain, picturesque and elegant
The setting of a newborn earth
The prayer of the newfound glory
The ending of my love story
