• I saw a girl play happily
    Among her many toys.
    I heard her singing joyfully,
    Oblivious to her noise.
    I watched her dance energetically
    Not caring what you thought.
I felt her tugging at my arm
    To gain attention sought.
But I must pull my hand away,
And tell her to be quiet.
Put down her toys; take up her books
    And cease her endless riot.
I saw a girl play happily
In joy for all to see.
But now that I have lost that child
All that is left is me.
