• Drowned Infatuation

My heart, I feel, didst grow so big with life
Each thought of thee wouldst oft times make me smile
And thy kind words served to beat back my strife
When thou were there, time didst fly all the while
Every day spent in such sweet innocence
Infatuation drowned me in its sea
So blind was I to the truth and now hence
Here we stand, divided twain, I and thee
Hearts drawn apart by hurtful words and pain
A chasm before us parts hearts in two
The days of young love I’ll ne’er see again
One day I will find thee and say what is true
That I will ever wait for thee until
I am old and my heart stops and lies still
