• After a year’s gone to pass,
You’d expect some things to last.
But not everything is always so simple,
In this vast and growing sea.

I guess one summer is too long.
Press the reset button and play along,
Over and over, again and again,
    Redoing what has been done.

    Build up the friendships,
    Tear down the battleships,
    Break up the cliques,
    Go over the rules.

    Recreate reputations,
    Redo manipulations,
    Pretend and smile,
    On these cheap pedestals.

    Forgotten by friends,
    Left behind on rough ends,
    Stuck in the doubt,
    Where nothing is left.

    There isn’t much to say-
    I never did anyway.
But it hurts all the same,
    To be pushed away.

Why is it people always reset time?
Forgetting about the one who drew the line,
Who helped when they were in trouble,
And reminded them of what's right?

    It's not surprising.
    Figured it'd be me-
    Too weak to call,
    Too tough to fall,
    Too much to say,
    And much too small.
