Always curious
Ever seeking
Queries fill the mind and soul
Come blurting out
Stubborn and persevering
Pestering for an answer
But ignorance is kind
There’s no comfort in the truth
Pain is the heart you find
Despite the sorrow
Or the regret
There’s no turning back
Childhood and innocence
Thrown away
As soon as the answers came your way
Shouldn’t have asked
No need to have wondered
Nothing good comes from it
Sometimes secrets were meant to be secrets
You were better off unknowing,
Unaware and naïve,
The best way to live a care-free world,
But the truth is opened before your eyes
And the door shuts behind you
No returning
And anguish is all you’ll find
