• The Day I Never Understood…
“Bang! Bang! Daniese let me in!” My dad shouted. I woke up at 3:00 a.m. to use the bathroom, and found myself cold hearted in front of a man that I never understood. My father. I saw my sister running, her long black hair flowing behind her and tears of grief rushing down her cheeks. “Get back in your room Josh!” she exclaimed. “No!” I cried stepping closer to him. Boom! The sound the door made as it went down. “Please Frico, for the kids, Please Frico.” My mom pleaded. My sister stepped in between the both of them. “Stop it!” she screamed pushing him away. But, he had strength and shoved her out of the way. Suddenly he took his anger out on my mom’s face. I backed up against the wall, slid down slowly crying and tried to yell stop. But my voice dried up and I couldn’t speak a word. I was shocked, sad, angry, and scared all at once. Before I could blink my mom was able to gain some strength, and broke free from his hands that were around her neck. I followed her crying. She ran down stairs with only a night gown on. In the kitchen she paused panicking. Where were her keys? As I stood staring she found them on a hook. With momentarily relief ran out of the house. I always wondered what my mom did in that time period. I crept back up stairs and stared down my father. Even though I was frightened I asked “What kind of father are you?” I had rage in my eyes too! “One that you will never understand.” He said calmly. September 9th, 2007 3:00 a.m. is the day this took place. After the situation occurred my family had and is still having difficulties financially. But we are fighting through with faith and courage that we are going to get through. To think of it, I realized that we won at the end, because when I’m down in the dumps I always have someone to cheer me up or talk to. But him, he’s left with only his dirty money, and money cannot buy happiness. Till this day I don’t understand my father or why he did this. But, I do understand that because of this event I’m closer with my sisters and mom. Also, we have grown stronger. We are a family, a team, and we would do anything for each other.
