• Do You Like Me, yes or no?

You remembered every second of that day as if it were yesterday; Sitting on the
sofa in the living room. You know the one. Coffee stains and the smell of mint, a burnt
sienna color. You remember your best friend Anne. She was standing next to you, trying
    to calm you down.
    “Ok, Lilly deep breathe.”
“Oh my god I don’t think I can do this!”
Anne puts her cold hands on her forehead.
“What are you doing?” She slaps away the hand. Anne touches her hand and pouts.
    “I just wanted to help!”
“I’m sorry Anne. I’m just a nervous wreck right now.”
Anne smirks at her. “Come on, Lilly. We’ve been friends since ever!” Lilly smiles back.
“And I know who you like!” Said Anne in a girly voice
“Yeah, so do I!” Lilly went back to pouting and freaking out.
    “What’s wrong now?”
“It’s just that after I tell him… What is he says no?” Anne just burst out laughing at her.
“Oh Lilly, I love your sense of humor.”
“IT’S NOT FUNNY THIS IS SERIOUS!”
“Yeah but what if he says yes?” Lilly’s eyes began to widen! Her face became crimson red.
“Ugh, Anne I’m so jealous of you!” Anne was just shocked
“Why?” Lilly just evilly stared at her
“Don’t make me say it for you.” Anne thought about it
“I still don’t get it.” Lilly rolled her eyes at her and groans
“That you and Shawn are going out!”
“Oh yeah, sorry you had to say it. I know how you blush when you think about it. It was so cute though!”
“NO! I don’t want to hear it again!”
It was too late. We began to drift in to her field of memories.
“It was late after school, it was raining. My mother had warned me to bring an umbrella, I never listen anyways. I walked toward the school entrance. Feeling a cold breeze through the open door. Looking up, I saw him. He was standing near the entrance holding an umbrella. I was wondering who he was waiting for, maybe a girl. I walked closer to the entrance.
“I can’t believe I have to run home in the rain!” I stepped out into the cold. Suddenly I hear a voice from behind me “Wait!” I turned around to see who it is. It turns out the boy was Shawn, my crush. I couldn’t believe he was still here! I could have sworn I saw him go home already.
    “Yes?” Shawn just blushed
“I was wondering do you want to share an umbrella with me.” I began to blush a little too.
“Do we even live near each other?” I asked him that because I’m a crush, not a stalker.
“I live over there” He points towards a place called “Mabry Heights”
“Oh, I guess do live near each other.”
“Uh yeah, so want to share an umbrella with me?”
    “Sure, I’d love too.”
We got closer to my house. The rain began to pour heavier than cats and dogs. We were both holding the umbrella. Our shoulders nuzzled against each other. Shawn cleared his throat.
“Um, there’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you.” We stopped walking. I looked at him.
“What is it?” He began to turn red. I suddenly got this weird thought “No way, there’s no way he’s confessing!” He clears his throat.
“We’ve known each other for a few years, right?” I nod, I was blushing, I hope it wasn’t as obvious.
    “I uh… uh…”
“Yes?” I began to look at him.
“I li…li…” I was still thinking “NO WAY!!” He takes a deep breathe. He looks into my eyes. His eyes are so beautiful, their dark brown almost black.
“We’ve known each other for a long time. Since the moment I met you, I fell in love. I thank the heavens for making an angel sent down from above. Since the moment I met you I’ve wanted to say ‘I like you’ and ‘Will you go out with me?’ and then I would hope you say ‘yes’. Would you consider it?” I began to feel dizzy. I smiled. “Since the moment I’ve liked you too. So that make’s yes!”
The rain slowed to a stop. As fast as if someone was using magic to makes my day magical. He puts down his umbrella to feel the suns embrace. We smiled at each other acting so lovey dovey it was almost gross. He slowly leaned in, so did I. Our lips got really close, then closer and closer. We kissed. Large explosions in my mind as if there were fireworks in there. It felt like July 4th in my mind. His lips were so warm.
We held each others hand all the way to my front door step.
“See you tomorrow?” I wanted to say no. my heart was aching. I still smiled at him.
    “I can’t wait for tomorrow!”
Lilly just smiled at her. “Wow, Anne that was how you really felt? You told the story differently.”
“I’m glad you liked it. Did that finally wake you up?” Lilly smiled
“It did. You’re the best I love you! Thank you so much, for everything. Thanks for making me smile again. I hope in the future I can do the same thing. I think I can do it now.” Anne smiled back
“Good luck!” Lilly began to run. She knew exactly where he was. He usually hangs out at the park at “Mabry Heights” He’s usually at the end of the field. He’s usually playing his guitar and zoning out. It wants far. The park was right across the street from Anne’s house.
Lilly and Chris have known each other since they were kids. Lilly slowly fell in love with him when they got into middle school. They hung out all the time. Anne, Lilly and Chris know each other very well. Lilly just ‘happen’ to be looking out the window and looking at him.
Lilly stepped out, walked across the street and reached the park. Then suddenly a boy just walks in front of her.
“Hey baby. Missed you” She groaned. It was the schools biggest idiot, a play boy if you will. He goes after single girls or really hot babes. Lilly is pretty cute, not hot though. Lilly wasn’t exactly the person who wanted to be single. She hoped Chris could erase the ‘being single’ part.
“Move it loser!” He scoffed at her.
“I’m not a loser. I’ve dated more girls than you’ve dated guys.” She scoffed back
“Oh, so one date and kiss was considered dating? Your one of the most hated guys at school, by girls. Even nerds are better than you!” He smirked at her
“So you’re saying Chris over there is better than me?” She gasped, ‘How did he know?’
“That’s none of your business!” She began to run a little. Rick grabbed her arm from behind.
“Hey I’m talking to you!” He still held onto her arm
“Let go! You can talk but I’m not going to listen!” He pulled on her arm to pull her closer to him. He hugged her and kissed her neck.
“So, are you guys going out now or something?”
Lilly looked to see who it was, she gasped it was Chris!
“Let go of me!” Lilly slapped Rick across the face and made a run for it. She screamed “PERVERT!!”
“She’s just a little shy” said Rick in an angry voice.
Anne ran out and slapped Rick across the face, too.
“OW, why am I getting punished for kissing my girlfriend? That hurt!”
    “What’s wrong with you?”
    Rick just touched his cheek.
“What? I can kiss my girlfriend?”
    Anne became furious!
“She’s not your girlfriend you pervert! You’re such an airhead!”
Rick was still touching his cheek, he smirks.
“Now that I found you, I’m going to dump what’s her face and get with you instead!”
“Yeah I don’t think so. I already have a boyfriend and he’s way better than you! Plus Lilly never did and never will go out with you! EVER, Chris you have to understand!” Anne’s eyes were almost in tears. They were begging him to listen to her not Rick.
Chris felt so relieved and happy “Thanks, Anne. I’ll go find her” He started running in the same direction as Lilly. He hoped he could catch up to her.

Lilly ran out of breathe. Panting and panting. She crouched down on the curb. She was still crying ‘Ugh! My life is over. What does he think of me now? I’m not like that. Please don’t hate me…” She tried to stop the tears, they kept coming though. All of a sudden she hears rustling noises.
“WHO’S THERE?’ She sniffles a little bit more.
“Hey, calm down it’s just me.
“How did you know I was here?” ” Chris came out from behind the bushes.
He chuckled “It’s kind of hard to NOT find a crying girl.” Lilly is totally freaking out.
“Hey um…” He looks at her
    “Yes?” Lilly starts blushing.
“It’s not what you think! I would never go out with him!” He starts laughing at her.
“Hey its ok Anne told me!” He smiles
“Well there’s one more thing.” He smiled again
“Sure, what is it?” Lilly just turned redder. She looks like she had sunburn on her face!
“You know how we’ve known each other since like ever.”
    “Yes.”
“And we’ve had a lot of classes together.”
“Yes.” Lilly takes a deep breathe
“Ok here goes. Well ever since 7th grade I’ve had a small crush on you. After a while it grew bigger and bigger! It felt like my heart could burst any minute. I would die and I would never be able to tell you how I feel. The doctor said the cure is that I have to tell you.”
Chris began to turn sunburn red, too.
    “Lilly I didn’t know”
Lilly starts to blush too. “Yeah, I just wanted to tell you. I understand if you say ‘no”
He smiled at her walking closer to her. He sat on the curb next to her.
“I guess I should give you something too” He reaches in to his back pocket. She hears a crinkling noise from behind him. It was a note and Chris handed it to her. She glanced at him and took the note. It read: Do you like me, yes or no? Her heart skipped a beat.
“Was this for me?” Chris began to blush.
“Yeah, I meant to give this to you when I was like in 3rd grade. I made it in 3rd grade. I never had the courage to give it to you. I’ve always carried it around with me. You were always with me. The note was always in my pocket. Hoping its destiny would be fulfilled.”
She became kind of dizzy. She was so happy!
“Does this mean you’ve like me for a while too?”
He smiled “It’s been more than a while!” She smiled back at him.
“You have no idea how those words can make me smile! You didn’t even need to ask because the answer was yes all along!”
They got a little closer to each other. They stared in to each other eyes. His was sky blue hers was hazel brown.
Finally, they get off the curb and walked back. Taking there time and laughing at each other. Anne ran to greet her.
“Hey, stranger feeling better?” Lilly’s eyes twinkled
“Never better” Anne glanced over at Chris.
“So…Are you guys going out now or what?” Lilly turned bright red
    “Pretty sure” Chris walked over
    “I assure you”
“Hey wait! Is Rick still around here?”
“Huh? Oh yeah! I called Shawn and lets just say I hope he had enough nerve left to say ‘sorry’ to you!” Lilly just laughed and smiled
“Come on, Lilly. I’ll walk you home.”
“Oh ok. Bye Anne! Call me later, ok?”
“Sure” Anne smiled and waved good-bye.
Chris and Lilly were close to each other on the road. Their hands casually brush against each other. Lilly looks up, to stare at the sky. She’s thinking “I feel so happy! I truly was lucky to be born as a girl!” She looks back down. She sees Chris and smiles sweetly. Chris blushed and smiled back. He’s thinking “I want to hold your hand.” He walks a little closer.
    “Um Lilly?”
    “Yeah?” He gulps.
“I was wondering. Can I hold your hand?” Lilly smiled and became really embarrassed. She held out her hands. “I thought you would never ask!” She tilts her head towards him. He came in a little closer too. She slowly closed her eyes. Their lips are hot. They lean in close and closer…

WELL I’M SURE YOU GOT THE POINT!
