• 'OMG, that image of chibi L is so kawaii desu~~! <3'

What do you see in the sentence above? Yes, someone is raving about an image of L being 'kawaii'. Do you know what I see? Wapanese, or wannabe-Japanese.

Wapanese has gone to the heads, messages, posts, and texts of many people, and it has gotten so annoying, it has surpassed chatspeak.

No, I'm not saying the Japanese language, nation, or culture is inferior to anything, but why are Americans attempting to speak this language? Do they feel that their language is inferior?

No, learning another language is not an excuse; you can do that in classes or with an online tutor, so why do that on a forum post?

No, it does NOT make you seem smarter, if that's your goal. In some sites, Wapanese is spam. The word 'desu' is often unneeded at the end of sentences. Wapanese is grossly overused. Just look it up in Urban Dictionary.

Besides, what's wrong with the word 'cute'? It's short. Unless you're a type-oholic, 'cute' is the word for you. Only four letters, and one syllable. It's like an advancement in technology, reliable and easy to use.

So why do you speak Wapanese? Does it make you look better? All I see is a wannabe of a nation. If you can think of a reason to speak Wapanese, pm me.
