• tab The last time it had rained had been during the summer of when my family had first moved to the new state. But that was here the last time I saw rain in my old home was so long ago It seemed like it had almost never happened but I can always assure myself when I feel those first wet and cold drops hit my skin and that new rain that make everything in the world feel new smell, I can always seem to somehow remember what seems like it never was. I was in 9th grade, well at least that’s how I remember it because that day I had my art class first period and I can solidly see the school as the school bus pulled up along the sidewalk to let us join the some other 1,000 student waiting for the bell to ring and school to start. I remember everyone being locked out of the cafeteria because it was closed that morning and as well as the library because of a teacher meeting. I was standing under the covered area trying to stay dry with all the other misfortunate students at the time like we had been commanded to do when ever it rains, then being pulled out of my head and in to reality with a touch of a hand in mine, I looked over to the arm and person connected to the hand, to see my very best friend and neighbor standing next to me. She was only one year younger then me and we were always talking to each other during school whenever we saw one another but it had been awhile since I had seen her. Slowly she started to crack her Goofy but crocked smile at me while tugging my hand with hers towards the rain, in the open area. I asked her what she was doing and she just told me dancing with her friend, when I had asked her what she meant she had said she said exactly what she meant, and before I could try to scrutinize her anymore about her mischievous behavior we were out in the open rain the drops soaking our hair and falling down our face as if they were tears that belonged to us. Soon we were spinning around and around till neither of us could tell the difference of the faces that hide from the rain, but we could always see each other. Then the bell gave a sharp ring signaling that class was now going to began and we had 5 minutes to get to our classes which were on the opposite sides of the school form each other, so saying our short but sad goodbyes when let our hands drop from each others and backs facing each other were headed to out separate classes, not to see the other for the rest of the day.
