• Chapter 1
    Gift of friends

I am Hero, your average, typical sixteen year old eleventh grader. I was also quite predictable, or that’s how it used to be. . .

“Good morning, it’s seven thirty am, currently ten degrees and not a cloud in the sky.” The radio blared singling a wake up call. He had stirred around on the bed and groaned.

“Uhhnn isn’t it Saturday.” He moaned from under the covers.

“Nope, its Monday sleepy head, so get up cause breakfast is ready.” Diana provoked from the bedroom doorway.

    “Ok fine,” He agreed.

He zipped down stairs. “Morning,” He shouted with a large smile on his face.

“Well, well looks who decided to join us,” Diana giggled. Diana is my older sister, a little annoying but she means well.

“Now be nice to your bother Diana after all it’s his second year at High School,” Mom chuckled. She was the optimistic one of the family, but she deals with both of us. So she’ll snap sometimes.

“Yum smells good. What’s’ cookin’?” Hero had asked. That’s me, introduction was given earlier

“Your sisters’ blueberry pancakes.” Mom answered.

“Really, well I guess there’s a first time to everything.” He sighed sarcastically.

Diana gave him a sharp glare.

“I was only kidding; they’ll blow me away with superb taste.” He recovered from his previous comment, then sat down at the table and wolfed his portion of the breakfast.

“You better hurry; you don’t want to be late alright?” Mom suggested.

“Right, bye,” Hero agreed putting on a cap slipping out the front door and vanishing too far from sight.

Hero raced toward the school gates. ‘Please don’t ring, please don’t ring! It’s gonna ring.” He spoke to himself

Hero sped into the class room just as the teacher called his name. “HERE!” he shouted. He sat down in the nearest seat hoping not to cause anymore disruptions.

“Well I guess everyone is here now,” the teacher smiled. “I am Miss Hikari; I will be your teacher for the rest of the year.”

‘And quite the hottie too,” Hero thought. Just then Miss Hikari looked up at him and
smiled, and started her lesson, he sighed. ‘This year is already off to a strange start.’

During lunch hour Hero was taking a bite out of his sandwich. “Puppy!” someone shouted behind him. He rolled his eyes and turned around just to be trampled by a tall female.

“Whoa,” Hero shouted. Sera sat down on top of him with a big grin on her face.

“Hah. . . Nice to see you Sera,” He sighed setting her a side gently. He got up and started to chow down on his sandwich . . . again.

“Heh, you eat like a pig Hero,” a voice said coming from above. Hero twitched and choked on his sandwich.

“Damn it wolf, up to your stealth tricks again, aren’t ya!” Shouted an aggravated Hero, Wolf was in a tree, he jumped down to chat.

“Yep, and ya still can’t sense me yet. Pathetic really,” He glared at him and grunted.

“Humph; well Wolf I’m not quite as good as you . . . yet anyway.” He replied both hero and wolf fell into a verbal argument.

“Ho-humm, this is getting very interesting quite the battle,” Sera sighed in a sarcastic tone.

“Indeed I say it’s heating up fiercely.”

“I agree as well.” Replied two people beside her,

Sera shifted her view to the left side of her. It was Acqua and Airisu sitting right beside Sera looking very interested in the argument. Suddenly Wolf and Hero put up their fists then vanished out of thin air.

“Oh boy they’re going at it again aren’t they?” Airisu asked.

“Unfortunately yes they are.” Answered Acqua, bursts of wind came from every direction

“Holy crap such speed and power they have!” Shouted Acqua as her hair whipped around from the bursts.

“Yes but it seems that they are slowing down.” Sera observed.

Hero came crashing down hard from out of no where. “Wolf, Damn you,” Shouted Hero rubbing the side of his face,

“Heh heh, your still a weakling Hero, Get up to speed will ya.” Smirked Wolf,

“Well that was well worth my time, for now anyway,” smiled Acqua. The bell rang for students to get to class.

“Ok now I gotta go to P.E, Acqua come on we don’t wanna be late right?” Hero smiled as he grabbed Acqua and pulled her towards the gymnasium.

“H-hey, slow down Hero, Were not going to be late ok!” Shouted Acqua planting her feet firmly on the ground, Hero fell back and slammed directly on his back hitting the ground hard. He lay on the ground whimpering in pain.

“Ow, uhh, that really hurts. . .” he whined. Acqua looked at him sharply.

“Well now that’s what you get for tryin’ to rush me.” Snared Acqua,

“Heh, right I deserved that I guess.” Smiled Hero rubbing his head, BRING-BRING went the bell signaling for class to begin.

“Alright, gym class!” shouted hero full of excitement.

“Awe great a gym class is torture with you,” sighed Acqua.

“Come on Acqua it’s not that bad.” He smiled as they walked into the gym doors to grab equipment.
