• "Wake up."

The cold masculine voice pierced through my dreams and I opened one gray eye to meet the owner of the voice.

I was met by a pale young man; his midnight black hair ran down in a soft silky stream down to his chest while piercing icy blue eyes gaped back at me. I shut that open eye and rubbed both of my eyes, warding off the sleep that had settled upon them. I slowly sat up and muttered, “Damien. What time is it?”

I blinked my eyes a few times then let my gaze settle upon him and he murmured in that voice of his, “It’s precisely eight in the evening.” With that said, a groan tore out of my throat, “I overslept.” A deep chuckle arose from his being and I glared at him while continuing my speech, “You should have woken me earlier.” I glared at him as he made his second round of chuckles, “You looked to cute and innocent while you slept, I couldn’t help myself.”

A sigh escaped my lips and I smiled at him, I guess it can’t be helped. “Well then since I’m up and about, could you kindly get out of my room so I can make myself modest?” He rolled his eyes and spoke in a matter-of-factly tone, “Why the need to kick me out? We’re going to be married in a few days time.” I huffed and crossed my arms over my chest, “Oh come on! You’re not supposed to ruin a girl’s virtue before they get married!”

He rolled his eyes at my statement and seeing as I wouldn’t budge with his speech, he sighed which signaled his defeat. “Fine, fine. And when have you decided to become so virtuous any ways?”he asked as he sat along the side of my four-poster bed. I smirked at him and spoke in my smart-aleck tone, “Since you dropped down on one knee and proposed to me.” He shook his head while his shoulders shrugged, “Then I guess I should quite being your fiancé?”

I glared at him and he chuckled for the third time of the night, “No way! If you do, I’m going to make you regret it.” He shook his head at my childishness before kissing me sweetly upon my forehead. “Well, time to get dressed, my love. We can’t keep your father waiting downstairs.” I sighed knowing that he was right. “All right but promise me you’ll just be outside.” He smiled and took hold of my hand before kissing it, “I will.”

He reluctantly detached himself from my bed before kissing me one last time but this time his lips met mine. With the closure of the door, I slowly slid out of bed and stretched my limbs over my head. The soft silver moonlight fell from the window and I proceeded to the bathroom to get a nice warm bath to start the night.
