    Backstory: Syd hails from a region somewhere within Gaia, but has refused to go into depth with anyone. All he has ever stated is that he caught hell as kid because he was very different than other kids in his area. Thanks to his mother, a succubus, he was not fully human and all knew. His youth well into his adult years were spent fighting. Sometimes for good reason, but not always. <br />
    <br />
    He later took up unsavoury acts in another area and only upon retirement from being a mercenary did he move to Barton. Out of boredom he applied to be a Barton Guard. He would have never made it in given his record, but Leon gave him a chance and persuaded others to let him join. Syd quickly worked his way up in rank all the way to major. Yet, if you find him wandering around he will swear he is nothing more than a regular guard in Barton. Most days he can be found close to the coliseum smoking a kiseru, cigar, or cigarette [it varies] and chuckling about the screams coming from inside. He enjoys his job most days...but try not to test him too often. He does have his limits.<br />
