Son of Jupiter and Juno, In roman mytholgy it was mars who was thought responsible for creating Rome. He was father of Romulus and Remus the founders of Rome and protected them throghout their life. The third month of the year March, or Martius in latin, is named after him. He is the most worshiped of all the gods in Rome.
