- Description: Edward Elric, the Full Metal Alchemist,known better to some as Ed, is the main protagonist of both the Full Metal Alchemist manga and anime series. He is the youngest state alchemist in the history of Amestris. In a failed alchemical experiment to revive his dead mother, he and his brother Alphonse paid the ultimate price. Alphonse lost his entire body, and Ed lost both his left leg and right arm. Ed and Alphonse now travel in search of the Philosopher's Stone. Ed hates being called short.
