- Yes, she does turn into a cat. In the first book Ron, Hermy and Harry try to find a way to get into the Slytherin dorms and Hermy figures that they can use the polyjuice potion and use the hairs of different slytherin students to become the students for a little while. But the hair that she plucked wasn't human, it was a cats. Thus she turned into a cat.

- It'd be better without the wand, and maybe you should try to find something that resembles their cloak? She was wearing it when she drank the Polyjuice Potion.
