Chapter 1
"The New Me"
2 Years later
I choked on the salt water filling my lungs. I trashed through the water, searching for something I could grab onto. The water didn't give me a chance to resurface.
"Damn!" I though in my head.
"Calm down, Mizuki." I heard her voice in my head.
I forced my muscles to relax.
I felt the water suddenly froze. I opened my eyes, and looked around me. The water was moving very slowly, in a calm current. I pushed up toward the surface. I reached up, and felt a break. I finally resurfaced. I took in short panting breaths.
"Slow down."
I looked up, and saw my guardian, Makina Katamoshi.
I looked into her eyes and remembered that night when she saved me.
*Flasback*
I shot my eyes open, filling my lungs with fresh air.
"Are you alright?" I heard a voice say.
I looked above me and saw a silhouette of girl.
"Who are you...?"
"I am Captain Makina Katamoshi." she replied.
'Captain?" I asked.
Her face was lit by red and blue lights.
My eyes went wide as I quickly sat up. I looked to my right and I was on a hill, looking over rows of houses. I stared in horror as I remembered what happened.
"You..."
"I saved you from that fire. I am sorry. You were the only... one i saved."
I held back tears remembering my parents screams.
"We need to go." she yanked me from my place.
She didn't let me scream as she knocked me out.
*back to the present*
'Right." I said.
Makina told me she resurrected me from the dead. When I came to, I was in a village. I was trained here as a solider in Makina's army. I only remember what happened after I was resurrected. Memories before that...
I dont know. Makina said she also saved my journal, scrapbook, and family photo.
Makina said I was burned badly on my left cheek, so she gave me a mask to wear.
I never felt any emotion. I was a hollow shell.
"Hurry," Makina said," Your training is over now. Get dressed. New refugees are coming in.'
'Got it."
I got up from the pool of water and rushed to change.
I ran over to the loading dock and a large group of soldiers had formed. A small aircraft was parked before them.
I saw the door open through my mask, and people started to walked out.
The Four Gods of Chaos had taken over, killing many people each day. The lucky ones make it here.
I started with one thought in my mind," I know none of these people."
I felt my eyes grow wide as I saw him walk through. Black hair, blue eyes...
One name went through my head, " Blake Summers."
