This Month's Items: Demonic Armor and Angelic Lace

Must be the economy...
Normally, I would be complaining about this month being a multi-quip. But things are different this month. My own job has been effected by our country's current economic state (and I work in the entertainment industry!), so my perception on this matter has greatly changed as a result. I know there are going to be several users out there that will be pissed by this and the "Win an original Angelic Halo" contest because it is essentially Gaia asking for more money.

But our economy is in shitsville right now. I'm letting it slide this month. . . .

More Demon Armor?!
I could have sworn we had enough of these already. Oh well, never the less, we got another set of Demonic armor.

Because I'm doing this late and my opinion on this item is far more bias than it should be for an honest and neutral review, I'm going to review this item as a whole set. That's right, all seven parts instead of individually.

So the Demon Armor is comprised out of your basic torso armor, a chest and shoulder plate, belt, gauntlets, boots, a chain mail cape, and a very feminine circlet. When worn all at once, some will no doubt take off or find an alternative to the chest plate option, as it just looks rather strange with the cape. I blame layering issues and clipping in how unattractive it is. If one goes without the cape, the torso armor in full is very impressive, which makes up for the individual parts looking rather small and unimpressive. The exception going to the cape, which is rather nice and appealing given its darker tone.

Now, being small for armor isn't a bad thing. Most of the multi-quip armors we've had in the past are rather bulky and really hard to use. The fact that most of the options are small means that you will be able to mix and match them with any other item available and still be able to look nice instead of like a big block.

I wouldn't use any of these options with the past demonic items released, as this one seems to linger more on the side of blue than the dark black and navy pallet the others have. If anything, this armor is for those characters that are working for the side of evil but can be turned good by the right situation or person.

Overall, if you don't have the demonic armors from the past, you are not missing out on much. This is a better design overall compared to the ones we used to get, and I say that simply because of the fact that it doesn't make your avatar look bulky.

Victoria's Secret Angel Room
Don't ask how I know that. I'm not ashamed of it, but at the same time, it's a long story.

That being said, the Angelic Lace is essentially just that. You have your cliche sexy bustier with optional bow on the back, a bra, a pair of panties, a garter belt and lace stocking combination, petite-size shoes with a pair of garter belts of their own for reasons unknown, a see-through nightie, a glitter halo, and a scarf. Yeah, one of these things is not like the other.

As you can see from the options available, a complete set is out of the question. The bustier goes over the bra and panties, and the nightie actually allows you to see them while replacing the bustier. At least by logic if not by design. So pick a top to stick with and you'll figure out just how many you need to buy. When you shove them all together, you either get a very interesting temptress outfit or one of those very nice and sensual evening outfits you wish your girlfriend wore to bed.

Individually, each of these options will have some use. The shoes are a great alternative to the pair I have that make my avatar's feet look big whenever I cross-dress. I also found out that the bra matches the mermaid tail collectable rather nicely without venturing too far off the pallet.

Overall, investing in this item is all a matter of taste and style. The design is very heavy on the sensual, but the stark brightness of the pallet used is bound to turn people off. White is already one of the hardest colors to match on Gaia, and this item just makes it that much more difficult.

Short, Sweet, and To The Point
Get mad if you want, but Gaia is trying to stay alive here during our economic recession. Even in my line of work, which is booming during a recession, I still find myself being cut from my job early in an effort to lower overhead cost because it is getting too damn expensive to keep me around as long as they used to. Seriously, you wouldn't understand if you don't have a job.

As far as the items go? They'll do what they were designed to do.
