Leyla walked down a busy sidewalk, smacking bubblegum in her mouth lazily. A young girl not much older than eighteen years, she wasn't much used to wandering about the city in the daylight. She didn't take on much of the appearence of any other homeless person of the city. Preferring to call herself a nomad, she was clad well in new clothing and a shoulder strap bag of necessities. She knew how to handle herself, how to get what she wanted.

This city had been hers for the past six or seven years, at the time it seemed much more tolerable to take on the abuse of the city streets at night than that of her home. Unconditional love was a lost concept on this eternal walker, as it was on her parents.

She had a bored look in her eyes. The sun shone on what was to her the most dull sight she could ever find. Then again, she found dim streetlights to be her glamorous spotlight for life and all its excitement. She blew a bubble slowly, pondering activities for the day.

Seul shuffled under his rough stain covered blankets, he push and pulled at his sweaty clothing trying to peel them off while in mid sleep. He groaned at his stiffened arm, and set a dreamy eye to his clock. But his eyes couldnt focus and Seul let our a heavy sigh as he lifted himself from his makeshift bed. Which was actually just a heap of matressis, sheets and throw pillows, all set with the same dirty color. "s**t," he moaned taking another look at the clock and trying to concentrate on the glowing green numbers. "Past noon... fuuuuck. Im late." He said rather calmly while pulling his shirt from his sweaty back. Again his drowzy eyes looked at the time, and he began to scratch his bear chest with a yawn. "Well," he said to himself, "I should get up.." But with yesterdays booze still in his system Seul was in no rush to get up, and slowly picked his way out of his cradle.

Leyla tucked her hands into the pockets of her shorts. She popped her gum and started herself on another bubble. It was strange how clockwork the city ran during the daytime. She popped the gum again.

As those around her hustled off for a quick lunch, Leyla squinted up at the sun. "How do people stand this," she muttered to herself, her light complexion obvious proof of her seldom exposure to the blinding star. She shuffled through her bag, paying no attention to the crowd. "Where are they, I'm sure I knicked some...Ah," she whispered with a smile, "There we go."

She slipped a pair of slim sunglasses over her dark brown eyes. "Well," she said conversationally to no one in particular, "That's much better."

Finally, with an extra 30min under his belt, Seul was ready for work. He was a chinese food delivery boy, and worked about half a block away. So he had slipped into his not-so-white work shirt, and popped a half smoked ciggarette into his mouth before desiding to climb down the fire escape.

He clattered down quickly, foot after foot until he could drop to the ground. Seul jumped fearlessly from the ladder, which hung 8ft in the air and landed easily. But he still made a face from having to use his sore limbs. He gave his leg a firm swat, as if that would make his stiffness dissapear. Then took a lighter from his torn jeans to light his ciggarette, and Seul inhaled the smooth smoke with pleasure.

Though the company was different at this time of day, all the old haunts were recognizable to Leyla. She glanced at a small alleyway where she knew a pack of mangy cats called home, then at the dumpy liquor store next to come on her path.

Her knee-high boots clunked against the cracked cement. They were proving quite difficult to walk in after too long. She let out a disappointed sigh as she could not go shopping, as she called it, for new footwear until the night. All wasn't lost at least, uncomfortable as they may be, she was certainly fond of the boots for their look.

She bit on her lower lip, looking around as though some new and unfamiliar establishment were to pop up for her to notice. She'd really not a clue what to do with herself for the time being.

After a couple of hard drags, Seul had smoked the cigarette to the butt and was forced to toss it into the gutter with a dissapointing glare. He yawned again, throwing his chest out and arching his back in the street. Some people glanced at him, but most didnt seem to notice his little retual.

In time he reached the little red shop, and could already hear the 'little women' shrieking up a storm. Reluctantly he pulled open the golden handle, and a gust of spiced air entered his already smoky lungs. The smell made his mouth water, but before he could even think about sitting down a small plump lady grabbed him by the shirt collar.

The small women pulled him down to face her and began to babble in a high voice, Seul couldnt to squeez in a word as her shrill voice filled his head. "您在哪里? 您晚!" She yelled, and of course Seul didnt understand her. This had actually become an ongoing pattern between them, he would wake up late and come to work. She would yell then shove a bag of food in his hands, complete with directions and adress. Seul would then smile at the women, bow to be polite and head right out the door.

And thats exactically what happened, before long a large white paper bag was in his hands and she was shoving him out the door screaming, "去去! 被射击的仓促或您!" And Seul just laughed, he again had no idea what she was saying and couldnt help but think this short lady was funny. Half the time she couldnt even understand him, it was a miracle he even had this job.

"Im going," he told her, but was answered with wet rag to the face. The chines lady was pink with rage and began to try and beat Seul to go faster. "Okay, okay." He giggled, taking off in a jog.

Leyla spat her gum out on the sidewalk and replaced it with a fresh piece. The ache in her feet was beginning to get to her.

"Perfect," she squealed, coming across a silver Vespa fashioned lamely with a single chain. She found it funny that some people were naive enough to have the foolish thought that the broad daylight aided the safety of their possessions.

She pulled a thin wire from her pocket and was quick to work. She gave a seemingly effortless performance, even nodding to passerby as though it were her own scooter she was to be taking a ride on. Once she heard the lock click, she sidled herself into the seat with leisurely ease.

As soon as Seul knew he was out of sight, he opened the bag and poped the lid off the foam container. He grinned licking his lips as he took in the sweet smell of food. Using his dirty fingers he pinched up some of the noodles and dropped them into his mouth. "Mmmn.." He hummed to himself.

After a couple of blocks Seul closed the box and shook it in his arms, making the noodles fill in the gap he had left. Then he put it back into the white bag and tucked it under his arm. With the other he pulled out the map, sucking on his lip he read threw them quickly. He glanced up to match the street signs and did a quick soldier turn to the right. He shouldered his way threw buisness people, sometimes even using the box as a battering ram.
